Devil May Cry 5 was to satisfy the fans
Unfortunately it came out DMC5 and I like it but frankly I would have preferred a DMC Devil May Cry 2
Everything story-wise is superior in DMC5
I've finished 5 and I couldn't believe how terrible the level AND enemy design was. Game looks great, plays great but it was a dull experience.
Other than a bit of fanservice, the story is simply terrible. It can be summarised in 2 lines.
The coolest bosses are in DMC4 though.
DMC5's artstyle is so-so bland. Well, it's Capcom who took course on "realistic grimdark" since RE7.
People play DMC5 for "god tier combat" mostly though.
I see you can finally both pull enemies to you AND pull yourself to enemies there, yeah? What i enjoyed so much in DmC, while in DMC4 you couldnt decide who pulls whom.
dunno, i didnt expect that twist in dmc3 (perhaps i was naive and believable)
but in general yeah what matters in DMC series is staging/direction of what you see more than actual plot
its like mtv clip from classic time cranked up to 11
