DmC: Devil may cry, is such a stupid name I would remember if it was done before
RESIDENT EVIL 7 Biohazard / BIOHAZARD 7 Resident Evil
...aka "RE7" lol
The Biohazard part of resident evil is a carry over from it's roots, when it was known as 'BioHazard' 1-3, and it got synced in the mid series.
You've got nothing. They just kept both names for the same game.
That's not even true. It's called Biohazard in Japan.
But either way, It's a completely normal naming scheme that keeps both names instead of ditching one of the other.
-aka, nothing like DmC blasphemy (well.... RE6 kinda is, but not in it's name.)
Could have sword it migrated to Resident Evil, but then again who am I to keep on on current Japanese trends.
Yet you said completely innacurate information. YOu said 1-3 was called Biohazard. That's blatantly false. In America all games are called Resident Evil, in Japan they were all called Biohazard.
Get your facts straight if you're going to make a post.
-It is a hold over from it's roots, & It was called both. But if ya forget to mention which countries.. ohh boi fanbois be upset.
You clearly assumed what I meant. The names merged in the global market (which is something I geniunely prefer as I"m kinda sick of series that changes it name to match another market)
In late 1994, Capcom Entertainment in the US was starting to ramp up marketing plans for the game that would eventually become known as Resident Evil in the US. Capcom Japan had let us know that the name of the game was going to be ‘Biohazard' in Japan, but I pointed out to the person who ran marketing at the time that it would be next to impossible for Capcom to register the name in the US.
As an example, I pointed out that a crappy DOS-based game had just come out in the US called ‘Biohazard' (not to mention the New York hardcore band of the same name) and that we'd never be able to secure the mark. As a result, the head of marketing held a company-wide contest to come up with a new name for the game.
The winner of that competition was, of course, Resident Evil, being a pun on the fact the first game was set in a mansion. For the record, Kramer voted against it, saying the name was "super-cheesy".
I have to ask.. .why did ya use wikipedia? it's like you've some massive insecurities.
let's be honest, in the western world. 'Biohazard' would have failed as a series, (even more so given how the game plays)
No one is bashing the game but dear lord you're insecure. It's still a hold over from it's roots, It's still named that on PC, & honestly it doesn't matter as RE series is pretty damn good (well.... 6 perhaps should have been another game series)
