After you make your mod you import it into Giants editor and edit it to add collisions cameras and attributes
To be honest and not wanting to sound rude but if you have to ask how to get modeling software then you wont be able to make a mod.
Or you can edit existing mod... just open it in Giants editor
correction there ... you DO need 3d modeling software to MAKE a mod. GE is only for map making and mod editing. He asked about making a mod not editing one.
I disagree. Everyone at some point has to ask how you to make a mod. There are lots of video tutorials on youtube that tell how to use 3D modeling software. Then its just a matter of pratice or trial and error. It can take years to get good at it though depending on how much time you spend making mods.
Of course and very true !!!! I suppose what I should have said was if he wanted to create a mod now and didn't know about modeling software then without a hell of a lot of patience and effort it wouldn't be possible
This was more for the original poster.
Keeping in mind its probably me being dense but i didnt find the tutorials very helpful, they seem to glaze over certain facts such as how to add boundary collision etc.
I was still thinking " ok cool...now how do i make the maps" after watching these
spot on there .... the modding tuts are a pure waste of money and give very little info on whats needed to create anything. The only bit i found informative was the section about nav meshes.
