Error: Data Files Corrupt. Please reinstall application. PLEASE HELP!!

My brother gifted me Farming simulator 2013 and when it was done downloading, i tried to play it. A message appered saying "Error: Data Files Corrupt. Please reinstall application." I have tried reinstalling, validating files, and system scans. Nothing is working.

When you uninstall a game through steam it sometimes doesnt remove part of the program. Uninstall again and afterwards check C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\My Games for a folder called FarmingSimulator2013. If the folder is there then delete it before trying to reinstall the game.

If that doesnt work then there are a few programs that can cause problems while installing certin games through steam.

What operating system are you attempting to install it on? Windows Vista has a tool called "User accout control" which basically blocks anything happening to your computer without you explicitly allowing it. 7 has the same feature, though it is somewhat less overzealous (allowing Steam onto your computer will allow it to install games without asking you for instance). Windows turd- uh, 8, I have no idea about because if you held a gun to my head and told me to use 8, I would take the gun and shoot myself.

i tried disabling and uninstalling the programs i have and reinstalling Farm simulator 2013. it didnt work. I am using windows 7. My brother has windows 8 and it worked just fine.

Is that message you are getting a Steam message (gray message box) or something the game is putting up?

Its a GIANT engine (the game engine) software error
