Much like actual farming. :)
ETA: If there's a button to make your character shout, "Get orf moy laaaand!", I'm sold.
For a certain demographic, which you aren't in by the way, it simply is fun.
Each to their own... I think you're being a little over-critical though. It's never pretended to be anything other than a farming sim'.
It's not about realistic driving physics on the roads. I regularly drive a tractor in r/l and they are very rigid vehicles at the best of times (much like in this sim). They're also slow (like in this sim) and they are only useful for working in agricultural scenarios (like in this sim). If you try to drive flat-out and make a tight turn they will topple (like in this sim)... The only unrealistic element of them in FS2013, is the damage/crash detection system and the physics attached to such a situation within the Giants game engine. On that, I agree the physics systems needs some love.
Graphically, there's been some real love put into the vehicles and implements. If I'm not mistaken, the game designers are qualified engineers, hence their attention to detail with all the little working parts of the agricultural machinery. It would seem they have favoured placing the graphical overhead into that, rather then trying to make the landscape pretty. Again, I would agree it's no Crysis, but then I don't think it really matters in this sim (not to say I wouldn't appreciate Crysis-like graphics in it). There have also been some subtle shader upgrades since the last version of FS, which has made it a little less drab. There are also some tweaks you can do in your driver settings to force a little more visual pazazz.
As far as game-play goes, it's strangely addictive (if you give it a chance). There's plenty to do and to work towards. Resource management is the primary focus, so it's a given that things are slow-moving at the beginning and can have moments of tedium. Work past that, though, and the rewards are enjoyable. This is a casual game, so don't expect adrenaline rushes.
Perhaps most importantly, try to remember that the developers/publishers are a small in-house team, without the massive financial backing of companies like EA and Activision, etc. Considering what they have set out to do, they've done a pretty good job. Who are we to judge? Could you do any better? After all, there's not much choice out there for this genre and this is by far the cream of the crop...
Im sorry this is basically a troll thread.
you are trying to get validation why you should like a game you obviously do not like. And im afread if you cant actually figure this out yourself before you got the game no one here can help you figure this out.
Show some damn backbone do not make a long impassoned speach about why you dont like it what you think is wrong with it because the players of this game are well aware of the flaws in it but the majoty still enjoy it.
Man I dont know why are you trying to justify or unjustify your decestions why do you need us to help you figure this out... Why just Why.
Sorry to all of you that read this but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ some people just whine and whine and dont bother doing any proper researd into something that there not sure if they would like to play.
Hell there are plenty of lets plays on this game. there is even a demo.
Anyway sorry guys.
Please explain, given that he played the game, he didn't like the game and gave his reasons for not doing so.
I think you are missing the point, he is not asking for help, he is giving his opinion.
But what about those who have yet to purchase, obviously a particular game will not appeal to everyone, there is not one game that is universally adored. Whether or not others like the game does not invalidate his opinions.
Project much, one could equally ask why you feel threatened by someone not liking something that you like yourself..
Very good point.
No problem.
