if you plant half and half there is no reason why it would not work BUT... when you come to harvest its will be strange as you will have to do it instead of hireing help because i think there is a bug that if u have a half tank of wheet and then go over the corn even a lil bit you loose all the wheet, i cant put my hand up to that as never tryed half n half but i have lost crop before
The issue with half and half is if you have hired e.g. combine harvester operator they would stop once completing one half even if their current load was only 1%. You'd need to "empty" them before rehiring for the 2nd half. Not a big deal but it would make for less efficiency.

OK thanks for that I was thinking of connecdting my first 2 fields but still wanted to nbe able to grow 2 crops on occasion

if ya wanted tou could play a line of each crop on 1 plot of land it will just be a pain in the ass harvesting it lol

The old strip farming method from pre industrial revolution? Think I'll pass on that ;-)

its possible but you would need separate tippers for each crop and the AI would get confused. It would end up a bit of a mess once the AI had been there lol. Would make a fun video...

I actually had to do this as a result of a slight brain hiccup, it was in the big field a bit northwest of your farm (the on due west of the little village), I'd just brought a new seeder and forgot to switch to the seed I wanted but didn't realise til almost halfway through the field.

To avoid any AI problems I left a strip of cultivated but unseeded land (about 6m wide) between the two crops, I started a worker harvesting in a far corner and running parallel with the empty strip I left and he didn't seem to have any problem. It simply harvested it like two separate fields and all I did was empty the the harvester completely before setting the worker going on the second portion (which gave me the time to take the first half crop back to the silos for storage).

Probably not wise to plant two different crops directly side by side without some sort of break between them though.

You're better off just alternating the crops rather than dealing with trying to split the field

Alright thanks for replies, a good way to do it Feldynn, Void - you are right and I have now got to the stage that that is how I will do it. Cheers
