Spoilage - Can It Happen?
The title says it all, I tried to find an answer online but haven't been able to find an informative answer. I am aware that crops can wither if not harvested in time, this is not my question.

What I would like to know is can the crops that I have placed into my silos/pits spoil, or go bad. Or are they just infinitely held until I decide to sell them?

Crops are help in your silo forever.

i wish the crops in the silo did go bad it would make the game more realistic

well grain takes years to go bad in reality so i guess they could convert that into 1 game month or something.

As far as I know and read: YES, Spoilage does happen!

"Never harvest more than you can sell quickly. Crops stored in the silo will rot after a certain amount of time. Not all at once, but a little each day until they are gone or sold."

This is from "Staalker", an experienced FS13 players, as it seems: http://forum.giants-software.com/viewtopic.php?f=802&t=45820

He didn't confirm it though, but I remember reading the exact same thing in a farming simulator 2013 wiki, so I am believing this. It should take long for crops to start spoiling though and as I understand it, the amount of crops in your silos just start shrinking a little over time when it happens, so it's nothing to worry too much about

Not convinced, how does this silo spoilage reveal itself? This should be easy to test, am I supposed to witness a decline in the total amount in the silo?

yes, that's how it is supposed to show. I further read that this is mentioned in the games manual BUT I read through the manual and could NOT find a hint regarding spoilage: http://support.focus-home.fr/FS2013_MANUAL_INT.pdf

So it still needs to be confirmed :/

Not really. we had our corn in the bin for not even a year and it was getting moldy.

The question remains what does it do in the silo in the game.

if it dose spoil it is in such a small amount and so slow that a great demand will come up for the crop before it goes bad
