I see that you have also posted in the pinned thread at the top:
If you used the link provided in the opening post of that thread and read the fine print, you should have noticed this:
"(*) Please note that this update cannot be used for the Steam or Mac OSX version of Farming-Simulator 2013. If you have a Steam or Mac OSX version your game will be updated automatically."
It is not a good idea to try to patch manually your Steam games. You should let Steam do that automatically.
At the top left of the page, click "Library", right-click "Farming Simulator 2013", click "Properties" and choose the second tab "Updates". Under "Automatic Updates", choose "Always keep this game up to date".
You may need to exit and restart Steam. To do this, in the top left corner of the page, click "Steam" and click "Exit". Open Steam again, from your Start menu. The game should have been updated and you should see at the bottom of the page "(1 of 1 item complete)".
Note that you can see the version of your game FS2013 on the game main menu in the bottom right corner.
Thank you very much this was very helpful. So is this why it takes up to five minutes for my game to start?
Nope, that's steam cloud sync.
As LMBFarmer said, "Nope, that's steam cloud sync."
If you don't need the Steam Cloud (i.e., you use only one computer and save the game to your hardrive), you can disable it.
Once again: "Library" > right-click "Farming Simulator 2013" > "Properties" > "Updates".
Third part of the panel, under "Steam Cloud", uncheck "Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for Farming Simulator 2013".
Your game should start immediately
If you do need the Steam Cloud however, bring a book and read a few pages while the game loads. I don't know why it takes so long do load (it will take longer and longer as your farm grows). In my entire library, it is the only game that does that.
P.S.: I apologize for the typo in your username in my previous post. It's zachery0603 with a "z".
