Info about multiplayer
I've played this game many hours, OK let's be honest, days. I'm getting a bit bored. I've never played multiplayer. In fact, I've never played any game on line with others. My son the programmer would say I'm a dinosaur, and I think he's probably right. Could I ask some of you folks that do play together to give me an idea of how you play together. What are the goals, how do you do it. (I don't mean the connection but how do you play this game as a group.) I sure appreciate it. Perhaps it would add some spice.

I noticed a recent post asking for mature people to play. That would certainly be me. I don't know who plays here. I've got to thing it's an older audience because it seems young people, and I'd include my 30 year son, are more interested in shooting and blowing things up. (Although I do get a grin out of running over cars occassionally.)

Thanks,

Dave

yeah yeah Matt, I know you're only 29!

I've tried the multiplayer once, it lagged on me. But it is fun, especially with your friends. Basically same idea as single player. You have alot of stuff to do just with multiplayer you can divide up the task. You need the same map. You will also need, if they require any extra mods, the same mods they have. Would not hurt to make sure to have the latest version of the game to. Connection wise, well you already know about that. Lets see.....I think that is about as far as I get on this subject. I don't get the opportunity to play multiplayer much. I play SP so much due to the fact I'm just use to it. And plus the oh so many mods I have. Anyway, have fun in multiplayer and happy farming.

I've only played the game for a week now....about 20 hours in game. Seems to me, it would be of some benefit to make your "main" game a multiplayer. I can imagine how the game will get more difficult (logistically for one person) as you expand your farm and in time of need you can ask for help in the forum.

I can see where mods would be an issue but so far the only mod I REALLY use is the ATV from the FS13 website. And that's just for exploration and fooling around. Then again, I'm a new player so who knows what mods I'll want to use in the future. But doing multiplayer seems like a good idea if you have a good connection.

multiplayer is nice bc u got people to help out and if u got teamspeak3 or vent or raidcall then u can voice chat while farming and stuff like that... The last 3 nights i been farming with a guy i met on this and we have fun farming and shooting the ♥♥♥♥ on teamspeak while we farm...

most of the people that have farms online r looking for people with a headset and teamspeak... have anymore question just ask

i play multiplayer all the time.it's basicly the same as when your playing on your own.only you're playing with other people.some people will destroy your farm, others[like me]will want to help and grow and expand your farm's economy.you can choose any map you like[that you have]and you can add any mods you like[that you have]!

I appreciate the responses, but am still a bit foggy on what actually happens. So, you agree to play with someone, start a new multiplayer game and pick a map? Then just decide who is going to do what? Like, hey Larry, you go take care of the pig farm and I'll plant and cut wheat? Can you see what the other guy is going if he's not in the same field with you? How does the money get distributed? Does one person have the ownership and all others just help? That kind of detail would be helpful.
Thanks again.

That's pretty much it Dave. The host of the game will be the farm owner while people who join the server will be your so called "farm hands". Like Eb on Green Acres. To actually pay your workers you will need this mod: http://farming-simulator.com/mod.php?lang=en&mod_id=127 but most players are not really to concerned about getting paid and just like to help farm.

As stated above, all who play will also have to have the same mods. Note some mods don't work in M/P but that is usually stated in the description. I believe all mods on FS-UK are M/P freindly.

And as larryandbev mentioned, some people will join your farm just to be jerks & ruin stuff. So if you have some people in mind for M/P, I would suggest using a password to keep the riff raff out. Hope this helped you out a bit.

exactly.you can create seperate accounts, but then again you don't have to.
you can check were the other guy is going on your PDA or on your vehicle selection page.it is your farm.the other people are just helping[playing].it is like hiring workers to help you, without actually paying them to do it.hope this helps.
sincerely,

Also, I think this mod keeps track of what's going on with workers. http://fs-uk.com/mods/view/31093
