Farming Simulator 2013 Titanium Edition Freezing
Whenever I try to do a simple task, the game goes AWOL. I will start up the game, go to my Westbridge Hills savegame, start a worker planting corn, and I spray the fields behind him. Five or so minutes into this, the game completely stops, and my computer locks up, only being fixed with a hard boot. I have checked the CPU and GPU temps, and they are all normal throughout. It has something to do with the timeout delay recovery on Windows 7, but instead of recovering, the computer just stops doing anything right. Because it all stops, the log file records nothing wrong with the game. My graphics drivers are up to date, I have tried removing all the mods and putting them back one at a time, but even with no mods it still freezes. I have also removed to Titanium DLC, and that seems to have solved the problem. Does anyone know why this is happening? Am I the only one this happens to? I would never have thought that a Giants DLC would cause such a problem.

It sounds to me that it is your memory that can not run the game in full. How much RAM do you in. I had the same problem with my Laptop, with 2 gb after I put 8 gb in, I have no problems anymore.

Its a mod problem... Had same thing and deleted a few mods that were not quite up to speed with warnings/errors.... Use ctrl+alt+del instead of rebooting whoole machine... Then can exit just the game when freezing...

I meant to post my laptop config. I have a Dell XPS 15:
-2.4GHz processor with 2.9GHz TurboBoost
-8GB DDR3 RAM
-nVidia GeForce 540M video card
-Intel HD Graphics
-Windows 7 64 bit
-256GB SSD
It all is plenty capable of running this game and has for quite some time. I removed all my mods from the mods folder, started a new game with the same non mod vehicles, and ran the same scenario, and it just locks up the computer. I have tried Ctrl Alt Del and Alt F4, but the keyboard and mouse do not respond to anything, along with anyhting else including USB and DVD drive, everything is frozen and cannot be unfrozen without a hard boot. nVidia customer help has a page saying reduce load on the video card, and then increase the tdr delay in the registry, both of which do nothing. No other processes are running in the background, except for the essential drivers and windows processes. Once I removed the Titanium Edition DLC, the game ran perfectly on high graphic settings. I think the DLC is either bugged or it hates my computer.

The mouse and keyboard are built into the laptop, and the work all the way up to the point of freezing. The windows logs don't even record a thing happening. I use GPU Z to see if my graphics card was bad, but it seems to work fine. The load on it never gets higher then 75% and the temperature is completely normal. Something is maybe wrong with the processor, and I am going to see if it looks right using CPU Z. Last time my computer pulled through the tdr error, I remember seeing in resource monitor that the frequency on the CPU dropped to very close to zero percent. Now my laptop just stops everything and I can't see the resource monitor before it is too late. I have let it sit for ten minutes letting it spew out horrible sounds at everything, but no recovery. I have tried reformatting the computer, and I have verified the game cache, but that has little effect on it, just makes it load faster and get to the crash faster. I can try again, maybe the DLC is corrupted from download or something? I am running out of options, and I may not be able to play it again.

It seems that the game is running on the INTEL HD graphics controller instead the NVIDIA GEFORCE.

Please select the NVIDIA GEFORCE to run Farming Simulator 2013:

1. Right click on the background of the Windows Desktop and click NVIDIA Control Panel.
2. Click Manage 3D settings under 3D Settings in 'Select a Task...'.
3. Click the tab Program Settings under 'I would like to use the following 3D settings:'.
4. Click the button Add under '1. Select a program to customize:'.
5. Open the folder Farming Simulator 2013.
6. The default path is Local Disk (C:), folder Program Files (x86), Steam, SteamApps and Common.
7. Select the application FarmingSimulator2013.exe and click the button Open then click the button Apply.
8. Select 'High-performance NVIDIA processor' under '2. Select the preferred graphics processor for this program:' and click the button Apply.
9. Perform the same operation with the application FarmingSimulator2013Game.exe.
10. Close the NVIDIA Control Panel and run the game.

So I was driving the Amazone Pantera with the sprayer folded in, and the game did not crash at the same moment as before, in fact it has not crashed yet. Is it possible that getting the end of your sprayer stuck in the ground when driving along a hill can cause the GPU to freak out and lock up a PC? I have heard of other games doing something similar where certain things going through the world cause a game crash. I tried the options above, but the nVidia GPU is already a global setting. I also noticed that Physx is always set to use the CPU and can't be changed. Could this cause problems?

Thank you all for helping me so far. I may actually play my favorite game again without needing to check with geek squad

Aaaaannnd it just crashed. CPU is ok, and both GPU's are ok. The fan on my laptop will spin up really fast just before the crash. In order to play, I have to alt tab out and wait a bit for it to calm down, then continue playing until it does it again like 30 seconds later.

I also have been playing other games on high graphics, and they run fine. FS2013 is the only game I have that does this

So it turns out that somewhere along the line of steam syncing my files to and from the cloud, my save got corrupted. I have started a new game on the same map with the same vehicles and it runs fine
