Odd Forage Wagon Mod Behavior
I modded a forage wagon to increase capacity. That part worked fine, but then it got so heavy it bogged down the Krone Big M and sat back on the rear-most axle when released.
Someone told me about massPerFillLevel, so I changed it and that seemed to do the trick. It now slows it down a little, and that's at least semi-realistic so I can live with it.

But the main problem is it fills so fast. The volume is now 300k, and it fills within five or six wagon lengths when mowing grass behind the Big M. Based on the last wagon I had, that much capacity should last the whole mowing session without filling up.
What causes that, and how is it fixed?

p.s. the guy who helped me also mentioned the massScale setting, but changing it didn't seem to do anything.
Which brings up the question: Is there a document that tells what all the variables are for vehicles and what they do?

Tried the same thing with the Krone BigX 1100, could never get it 'right'. The perils of hacking eh? Have had great succuss with the Claas, it isn't as pretty - but is the most easy to use forage equipment, safely modded to 2,000,000 - so I can ignore it while it does it's thing!

Oh yeah, hacking can be fun, but often you're dangling out there all by your lonesome.

How wide is the mower? The map I'm on (Western Kansas modified somethingsomething) only has one mowing area and it's huge! Which is great most of the time, but when you get a job to mow, you'd better get to it or you run out of time. The Big M can easily finish in time, but even a tractor with a front mower & two sides often can't. I'm worried that if it's not as wide it won't be able to finish in time. (that and the tedium of directing it since you can't hire a worker...)

Unless...you said you can ignore it while it does its job. Can you hire a worker for it to cut grass? If yes, I'm in! Don't care bout much else atm. Would be reallly nice to automate the grass cutting part.

Ah, I thought you were looking for forage stuff, ie corn. But for grass - the mower on the Jaguar is pretty wide, but turns grass into chaff (just rediscovered that). But it is hireable, ONCE you've established a headland on each end (or around the whole field), as it'll keep going in a straight line until there's no more grass.

I have to break out my Big M Attach WIDE model to get grass/hay, with the "Follow Me" mod - cause it also has a hard time dragging a forage wagon edited to 2 million hahaha.

In the past, I edited a combine and header to accept grass, it did work - but the trailers didn't like the crop, even after editing them. There's what the combine puts in it's bin, and what gets ejected out the rear. Both are not grass/hay as per the game.

Am going to mess with a tractor and mower setup for the sake of hiring out the work - once my grass field grows back.

Or, finally figure out CoursePlay?

Tried Idaho 1.1 yet?

Hmm. Haven't tried making a headland. I'll have to look that up. Maybe that would allow me to hire for the big m. That would be really nice.

Haven't tried CoursePlay nor Idaho 1.1 yet. One thing at a time...

Does the program keep track how many times something is mown? I.e. the depth of the grass left from past mowings?
I've mown this field 20, 25, even 30 or more times. Very often, but not always, I take the same track, so the trail left behind is full of 30 mowings. But not all.
When picking up grass from the more frequently used trails, it fills up the wagon very quickly. But when going over the less used trails, it fillis it up slower. Still tremendously fast, but not as fast. The point being, the rate of consumption of grass varies.
Would this be a case of a setting/non-setting in the wagon? I guess I need to find out If another (similarly modified) wagon is used what would happen.

I'm not sure - I've never mowed ANY patch that many times - too many awesome new maps keep coming out, I squirrel off them and move onto the next map :D! As far as I know, grass just keeps growing at the same rate (maybe different rates in different maps) - go by the growth rate in the menu (blue to green transition). You gotta check out Idaho, best map IMHO so far.

I'm thinking that's my next map
