Is there a way to play without Uplay?
Before you ask; I have no problem with Uplay or Ubisoft and I don't want to pirate the game.

I use to have an account, but it was banned after disuse. When I tried to get it working again support told me that my IP address was actually blacklisted and that I was not allowed to ever use Ubisoft services ever again. I tried some tweaking and spoofing with my internet to see if I could create a new account, but no dice. I am physically incapable of using Ubisoft services unless I move, which isn't happening.

This is unfortunate, because I REALLY want to play Far Cry 3, but I won't spend money on something I can't play.

So, is there any LEGAL way of playing a Steam copy of this game without Uplay? Or am I gonna need to get a console?

Hello PurpleBatDragon,

There is no legitimate way to bypass the requirement for Ubisoft Connect to launch the game.

Sorry for any disappointment caused and if there's anything more we can help with, please let us know.

Thank you!

Hey KingNecrosis,

Would you be able to elaborate as to what is exactly indicating as such?

If this is in relation to having to use an extra client/launcher in order to play the game - I do appreciate where you're coming from and am happy to forward your feedback to our team on-board, as we have seen some player sharing similar sentiment, however as it stands at this moment in time, client is something that players are required to have, which is something that is also stated in Steam's Store page, in order to avoid any potential confusion.

Literally the posts before mine, bot. This is far from the only time people have been given the finger by your company. Your Ubisoft Connect launcher also sucks, because whenever I try to use a bluetooth controller, it's marred by incessant disconnects, something that only happens when I play games that are Ubisoft and require the launcher to be used. No other game does this.

Hey there,

Thank you for your feedback and update, sorry to hear that you experience controller connection troubles that only affects you when you play Ubisoft games.

We would like to get to the bottom of what is causing this for you, for this reason it would be really beneficial to take a look at your Dxdiag[support.ubisoft.com] and Msinfo[support.ubisoft.com] so that we can get a deeper look at the problem.

These files can be attached to a new case[support.ubi.com] so that we can take a look.

Any trouble just let us know
