Far Cry 3 Service not available?

I've been trying to play coop with a friend and we have gotten this message the past two days, usa based. anyonoe else get this message? can't connect to ubisoft service

I did find a fix for those of us still playing single-player. Right-click the game in your Steam Library, click Manage, and on the first screen ("General") there's a text bar to add a launch option to the game executable. Type "-offline" in there (without the quotes). This tells the game to completely ignore all online functionality, which means it doesn't ever harass you about the FC3 service not being available e.g. when jumping into the Crafting Menu.

I tried your '-offline' setting last night and it did not work for me. Still got the popup and my mouse kept freezing in the menu's. But it's not a problem as I am SP only and just cancel the 'Can't Connect' messages as they happen. Just thought I would try what you mentioned. It may work for other people.

My game works now (after weeks with problems to log in/connect ); started the game just now and had to log in with e-mail and password (Ubisoft Connect) and the game started. As Redback above: i only play SP so i don't know if Co-Op works.

Don't know if it helps, but i had a windows Update recently and the game started in
Windowed mode.

As said earlier in this thread: run Steam and the Ubisoft launcher as admin and reinstall the launcher (if you haven't).

This has been an ongoing problem with the Steam/Ubi DRM thing from day one, check the early discussions and you will see this. It will not likely fix the Co-Op stuff, but will at least, make the whole thing work more fluidly.

Never mind, whilst resetting a password doesn't work by going to their website, going to an app gets you redirected to a different password reset page (still on their website) that works. What a shambles, this is why I don't like games that are tied to another app just to make them work...

far cry 3 servers are down for good unless ubisoft decides to revive them so dont count on that

I hope its technical problem, they fix it and servers will work till September 1st, so people, at least, can play co-op and got achievements.

upd.: Servers of Assassin's Creed® III disabled as well =(
but servers of Splinter Cell Blacklist seems alive, but empty.

Apparently servers are still up and running (at least before decommission 1st September) but I can't connect to Far Cry 3 services, nor my friends. I tried multiple devices including almost fresh Windows 11 with no applications installed on it. I verified that all ports are open, I've even tried it with DHCP server and disabled firewall that allowed all traffic through but it still fails. It's unbelievable how Ubisoft can make so simple things complicated, especially when I just want to play coop campaign before it will be removed as if coop required actual servers to run. Not even mentioning DLC support.
