How to equip a knife? (SOLVED)

EDIT: Thank you all for pointing out that the knife can be used by pressing F.

I'm sorry for asking such a simple, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ question but there's a no key to press for a knife. There's no knife available from shops or weapons cabinets. But this woman Jason managed to use a knife during the prison break...so there has to be a knife, right? I'm supposed to takedown a poacher with a knife so somewhere in this god-awful game, there should be a knife for me to buy, steal, or craft, right?

Press F to do a swipe with your knife. There is a place in the store to equip different knives. You can't ever just take it out and keep it in your hand, though, unfortunately. When they want you to take down enemies with a knife, you just press F in front of them.

If you think it's awful then why are you playing it?

btw there's no knife carrying. Default button is F, press to melee and you can buy different ones in the various shops.

Because I bought the damn thing. Though, if I had known then what I know now about this game, I might have passed on it.

Those shops must appear later into the game then. I have two on my map plus a weapons locker at my camp. None sell any form of a knife.

Shops don't sell knives. There's the Machete you start with, the Tribal Knife which is unlocked at the beginning (Deluxe Edition only), and the Japanese Tanto, which is unlocked by finding six Letters of the Lost. You can change your equipped knife in the shop menu.

if you find a way to get rid of all the weapons youre carring and knife random it might e possible to hold it but you can use it then..

you could bind you Meele wich is f to you left mouse botton you wount be able to shoot but you can knife better
