Far Cry 3 Updater: Failed to start game. Cannot find essential information in the registry.

Reinstalled about three times, verified cache, tried every fix, including the ones in this link: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/739489-PC-Win7-8-vista-Solutions-gt-Far-Cry3-Has-Stopped-Responding.....filled out steam tickets....this is really weird because I have been playing this for 3 days with ZERO problems then all of sudden this afternoon after not playing turning off my PC and not playing for a few hours it stopped working altogether. PLEASE help.

Did you try Solution 6? And did you use CCleaner?
Also was the game running when you turned off your PC?

Try this: Reinstall Uplay from solution 6.

I just did and I did the CCleaner. I just pressed play on Far Cry 3 and am waiting for the Auto Patcher again....

took forever but finally went into uplay then when i clicked play it just went to the splash screen and froze :(

I have none of those programs and I have had the Steam Overlay disabled and still nothing

yeah i tried that too and it didnt work but im gunna reinstall FC3 and uplay again and clean my registry...lol i gotta thank you tho and i applaud you on your one man mission to help ppl with this issue all over the ubisoft forums and steam (;

I was going to suggest that next. :P Also try and delete the FC3 Game files from your steam then download it again from scratch to see if that works. :)

yeah i just did a complete regedit clean and ccleaner so not a trace of uplay or far cry 3 remains so hopefully that'll do the trick

What is your FULL System Specs? And are you Overclocking?
