So I got a laptop with I5 quad core pc and intel hd 3000 running window 7 and 6 gigs of ram

So far it been able to run a majority of games. Even crysis 2 on high. Yeah, I know it should be a melted piece of junk from that game lol

Anyway I'm wondering what kind of performace I should expect from this game should I get it. I should mention that I have far cry 2 and it runs pretty well with no aa (yeah it sucks but at least i can play games) I'm not looking for 60 fps at 1080p just what i would expect on 1280x720

I'm looking for input from people who have played the game on this intergrated graphic.. not pc elitest who say I shouldn't be playing any games at all. I'm sure if you look at my profile you can see i have nearly 150 games and can play about 99% of them

Thanks in advance for any input you guys could give me.

Given that you can play Crysis 2 on High, I am gonna say you could perhaps play FC3. However, I should say that I have played FC2 on my laptop at Very High at abut 30fps, but FC3 I can only get about 5fps at the same "Very High" setting. It will play Low on FC3 though. I thought I'd have no problem, but I guess the game engine the FC3 uses is vastly upgraded compared to the previous Dunia engine.

I'm sure someone else has tried the game out on the graphics chip that you are asking for input on (and could actually tell you a definitive yes or no), but I'd thought I'd just put my two cents in.

Far Cry 3 (2012)

low: 20.4 fps
med.: 12.6 fps

Just for kicks, here's Crysis 2:
Crysis 2 (2011)

low: 27 30 30 33 ~ 30 fps
med.: 18 18.5 19 19 20 ~ 19 fps
high: 13 15 15 16 ~ 15 fps
ultra: 4 4 4 ~ 4 fps

If you can play with those frames, then I say good luck.

Thank you very much for your .2 cent Oloacoo It give me a idea what I probably can expect to see on my computer

Uw_Shock MD that's about the framerate I get on Crysis 2 on high. it still surprise me how smooth it feels at these frame.

just for kick i tried crysis 2 on ultra with high res texture and somehow by some miracle that I don't experence a sllideshow out of combat lol

I suppose those frames will have to do since i'm used to playing modern games in the 20 fps range until I earn enough money to build my gaming pc build. Was hoping for the 35 fps i get in skyrim lol

I suppose I should have worded my post a slight different but oh well I got the answer I wanted.

If you do end up getting FC3, try out the Ultra-Low Configuration Mod here:
http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/12/21/far-cry-3-mods-best/2/

While I don't know how much of a performance boost the mod will give, it's not a bad idea to try it out.

well you also have to take into account how POORLY ubisoft optimized this game for the pc. its basically a direct port from consoles. im running an i7-3770 and an OC'ed GTX 680 and im only able to play this game on ultra between 50-60 fps where as i play all other games (crysis 2, battlefield 3, assassins creed 3, borderlands 2, etc) on ultra between 60-120 fps so the game itself really is just a nightmare for anyone not running top end hardware. try low settings but i cant promise it will work out...

. Direct console port? PC got FOV option, keybinding option, mouse options, in game menu mouse control, several graphic/video options, support for muilt-monitors(Eyefinity/Nvidia surround). Maybe you should talk to Nvidia about some optimized drivers!!!

The only graphics option that seems poorly optimised is the postfx. Even between low and med causes a dramatic frame rate drop for me. Otherwise far cry 3 has recieved some well needed attention for a PC version. I won't for a second argue it's perfect though...
