For those guys stuck at the Deepthroat mission: how to beat it without triggering the glitch.

As some of you may know, the mission "Deapthroat" has a glitch makes it impossible to complete, and being a main mission, you ARE required to complete it in order to progress through the story.

The glitch:
The game doesn't recognize when you loot the pirate captain's body to obtain the role sheet.

How it happens: By failing the mission at the second checkpoint (when you have to take the pics of the meeting) and by not taking the proper route to the bridge.

How to fix it when it happens: Hit escape and restart the mission, sorry, it's the only way once you get the glitch.

Now: GLITCHLESS WALKTHROUGH!

There's around 4 checkpoints in the mission: the first is when you start it, just keep going with the flow, [COLOR="#FF0000"]DO NOT USE YOUR WINGSUIT/PARACHUTE TO REACH AN OBJECTIVE, YOU HAVE TO USE THE ZIPLINES AND SCAFFOLDS PROVIDED AT THE SITE.[/color]

You will now reach the second checkpoint, there should be a guard sleeping right next to you, just take your camera out and wait for the order to take the picture.
After you take the picture, the guard should wake up and should proceed to attack you (should you stay long enough for him to discover you), so right after you take the pic, just use the zipline and keep moving.

Now, take one of the RPGs provided in the spot, and shoot at the truck, make sure to kill the pirate captain, or the countdown doesn't stops and you'll fail the mission.
After the pirate is dead, the base is alerted, and you have to keep going forward, there will be a scripted event where the closest way to cross to the other side (a bridge) is blown up, so you are prompted to take a secondary route.
again DO NOT USE YOUR WINGSUIT/PARACHUTE TO REACH IT, you must progress THROUGH THE DESIGNATED AREA, that is, by using ziplines, it's a really linear path, so you shouldn't need to have your hand held in this part, just remember, always use ziplines, you DO NOT need to use your wingsuit to reach any area. If you "cheat" your way through the base, the mission's scripting will break, leading to the glitch.

After a few ziplines, you should reach another checkpoint, now, head to the pirate's captain body, and loot him, if you did everything as I told you, the game should recognize that you just obtained the role sheet, and you'll be free to continue the mission with no worries.

Tested the process 5 times, it's working.
And in contrast to that method, I tried other variations, and it always resulted in the glitch.

Only tested on PC but I see no reason why it shouldn't be working on 360 and PS3.

It appears that the glitch is caused because of a failure to trigger scripted events, if you die while you are at the 2nd checkpoint, the sleeping guard wont be spawned, so it doesn't trigger the "discovery" event (happens regardless still) and if you use your jumpsuit to reach the bridge faster, you wont trigger the plethora of fights and the 3rd checkpoint.

Hmm... I wasn't aware of this. I failed to take the picture of the suspects and used the wing suit and did so without errors, though I expect the reason is that I didn't skip any of the scripted parts.

Actually that IS an error, you should NOT be able to procede without taking a picture of the guys, if you try to do it you will ge a "mission failed" even if you dont die.

Thanks for the guide! However, glitching doesn't end after the checkpoint when the roll is acquired. After that, you have the big shoot out and then you are prompted to reach the getaway vehicle. I went down the hill and swam through the river and when I reached the checkpoint, the game didn't recognize that I was there and I couldn't proceed :-P
