I'm so, SO stuck on the Doppelganger mission.

I'm literally so stuck it hurts. I've seen that mission failed screen about 20 times now. No matter how I distract the guards there's always one guy looking in my direction. I've tried throwing rocks at every combination of objects from every direction I can think of and someone always notices me.

There was one time where I reached the dock just milliseconds before I was seen, hence my checkpoint was set there but I closed the game down. I felt dirty for essentially having found an "exploit".

I'm stressed, I can't lie. The rock throwing mechanic just seems so broken in this game and in fact I've hardly used the sneak game mechanic anywhere in Far Cry 3 "successfully".

Does anyone have any advice at all? This part is making me tear my hair out. Damnit.

I'm literally pissed off about these stealth-based missions in non-stealth games. I know I get salty easily when a mission is out-of-character for a game, but c'mon. "jumping into the water alerted the privateers" what? XD If I could knife takedown one of them and then (with the takedown drag) drag them far away, it would solve the problem, since "I shouldn't kill anyone so as not to alert the guards", says Jason. But no body found, no alarms triggered, but noo, we have to sh*tty stealth through the section while we (the players) are killing machines at this point. I'm so p*ssed. Dishonored, Thief and the other stealth games are my favorite (I love stealth) and they did stealth better (and stealth sections better) as this is their main profile. But for FC3 to have a MANDATORY stealth secion, it's ridiculous. Game devs, NEVER... NEVER do these kind of things, unless you develop a functional stealth system, and don't give us BS reasons why not to kill when it'd be possible to kill everyone and remain undetected. Of course, same goes for shooting/killing sections for non-shooting/killing-based games.

i agree its a hard mission .. but yes Red is right take your time

as much as io hate when a game goes to a mission like that .. it makes the game deeper and hard .. if ya wanna run and gun all the time ppl should stick to DOOM

some times stealth missions do make you a better player ..once you have to figure out ..yea .. SLOW down ..watch your surroundings ..do not get detected ..yea that mission in FC 3 was hard as were a few in fc 4 .. i hope fc 5 has a few more of em

Worst mission EVERRRRRR!

Can I skip this mission?

No chance of getting through on my own.

Too old for this.

Haven't played FC 3 for 6 months due to the doppelganger mission.

Play again and the same tedious boring mission where you are 1 on 20 ,no hope of getting through.

This mission turned me off FC 5.

Hey ProudTiger, sorry to hear about the anxiety thing you get. Not sure if you can bypass this mission as I haven't played the game in a long time, but I can tell you I am old fart and if I can do it anyone can.

A couple of things to consider, take your time and think about it all as suggested, drop the difficulty level down to the lowest and see if that helps. Last but not least....Have a glass of Scotch (or similar) on hand to help calm the nerves, works a treat for me in many games!....I tell the missus it's for medicinal purposes only!

This game is about stealth, if you don't like that I would suggest FC5, CoD, Battlefield, or any of the other run & gun action games out there.

I don't even play this game anymore because this mission gives me extreme anxiety.

It's impossible for most people.

I saw "abandon mission" in the menu screen but it just restarts the mission.

If there is a way I can ignore all stealth missions,that would be great.

Loved FC2 ,that was a masterpiece.

I can't play this anymore,just doesn't do anything for me, I am just getting at that age where video games are boring the life outta me.

REDBACk's guide gave me nausea,sorry ,might uninstall FC3,it's just sitting on the hd doing nothing.

If there is a mod to skip all stealth missions,I can go forth on my quest.
