Download it, run it and set it up. Make sure to select all the .dlls to be enabled.
Then close it. You should now have 6 files related to x360ce.
Copy and paste/ drag and drop all 6 of these files into the same folder as your far cry 3 exe.
The game will now read your gamepad as if it's a 360 controller.
I highly recommend copying + pasting those same files for every game that you plan on using a gamepad with in order to avoid problems due to most modern games being made to run just right with the 360 pad.
I use the x360ce with my PS1 controller and it works flawlessly for nearly every game.
not all work perfectly till ya set that up .. due to STEAMS controller settings
had no problems here with an old logitech Dual action usb pad .. but i prefer KB + mouse anyway ..and any more i never play my steam copy of FC 3 Deluxe or 4 GOLD ON STEAM as i own both also as Ubi connect only games
i prefer less DRM on my games ..steam only adds more DRM to ubisoft titles
also not all game pads are supported by all games ..see the read me file for the game
a cheap generic one may not work ..try a real MS one or PS4 one
but yea you may need to configure it properly with the drivers or controller software you have , as well as WINDOWS settings
but yep if you got a steam copy check big picture mode settings first under controllers
i did try my Steam controller a few yrs ago and it seemed to work ok .. but i needed to configure it .. gave up and as i already said i like KB + mouse anyway
reminds me i have to get that steam controller out again one of these days and sell it , as i never really used it , and i heard they stopped selling them ..hmm may make a profit on it
