UPDATED - 01/05/13: Added Solution 7 for Blank "GamerProfile.xml" Config file & improper resolution startup.

UPDATED - 01/09/13: Added a list of known Overlay/hook programs that Interfere with Far Cry 3 to Solution 4. Also Updated Solution 5 with knowledge of Overlay/Hook Programs Causing the error "Exception Code: c0000005".

Nothing works, tried ALL the solutions, still not getting past the initial loading screen after pressing play in Uplay screen

that happened to my friend, he just deleted all tabs and exta running programs and reloaded uplay, got past initial loading screen

Initially I also had the black screen after loading and managed to fix it by starting farcry3.exe in the Steam\steamapps\common\Far Cry 3\bin folder. Uplay then gave me a message saying it had been updated. I could not launch FC3 from here because Uplay kept asking me for a serial and when I entered it a message saying that the serial was invalid would appear. So I then quit Uplay and launched it from Steam and the game went past the loading screen.

Have the same problem as Thinquar. After the helicoper shoots the bridge out and you fall into the water, then it goes to the next mission, and refuses to load. Nothing works.

I've had a few problems in game. From weird shapes and stretched polygons and I had a hard freeze that crashed my computer tonight.

@DaMuncha: Sounds like you are either having a heat issue or your videocard is partly dead due to heat damage.
What is your GPU Temps while Playing FC3?

*SOLVED FOR ME* I had to reinstall Far Cry 3 to a SteamApps Library on my C drive. Its been on my D drive for years and it works with a hundread other games, but not this UPlay Crap. Created a Steam Library on C, installed to that (you can copy the files over too.) but that works. So insanely mad that this is the solution.

I try EVERYTHING ... Still can't pass the escape of the village, the game crash before...
I'have a high specs, drivers are to date...

I'have more than 500 games but this is the only never work...

This is perhaps the buggiest game I have ever played. It crashes continously. Very dissapointing.

Some of those suggestions are rubbish too. For example when I try and follow the first solution I get an error message when I change the compatibility settings for "farcry3_d3d11.exe".

I get a "failed to execute command" error message until I switch back the compatibility settings. Unplayable.

@Sierra Oscar: yes it is a very buggy game... That error "failed to execute command" is actually a steam DRM error... And to fix it just don't set any settings for the compatibility for "farcry3_d3d11.exe", just leave that part out then launch the game which will pass down the settings from the "farcry3.exe". :)
