far cry 3 full screen/ alt tab

when i Alt Tab in far cry 3 it wont go to the desktop, it simply shows me the toolbar with far cry in the back ground, this is extremely annoying.

does anyone have a fix?

yeah this is a basic pc hot key.

Alt+tab (out)
Alt+Tab (back in)

if stuck in letterbox and not fullscreen
Alt+Enter (fullscreen) while FC3 is at the top window layer.

When that happens, Alt+Tab again until you're highlighting the desktop. To get back, do what MittWaffen said. Alt+Enter fullscreens the game again.

thanks for the reply but you dont understand.
when i AltTab, far cry is not minimizing.
when i open a new window far cry is still in the back ground

If you alt+tab, the game just goes into windowed mode. You must alt+tab through your options until you reach either Desktop or the web browser or whatever option you ware looking for. Then to get back in the game you must alt+tab back to Far Cry 3, then hit Alt+Enter.

if you alt-tab, then click the show desktop area at the lower right of the task bar next to where the time and date is normally shown. This is assuming you are using Win7. Hovering over it will show it, but clicking it will do what you need. I know it is annoying, but that is what I found works for me.

Go into settings and change the window mode to "Borderless". Should solve the problem.

I have a problem alt tabbing and it wont lead me into the game, i have to end it through task manager. let me know if you guys know a fix

I have the same issue. The Borderless fix doesn't work for me, as Borderless seems to want to run in the monitors native resolution and my video card can't drive 4K :(.

yeak i have the fix, select from screen setting (in game options) the onethat say windows without borders, DON'T SELECT FULL SCREEN and u'll be able to do alt + tab trick :D
