In-game Crash after 1st cut scene

every time i try to play, the game freezes up and crashes to the desktop either during or directly after the 1st cut scene.

does any one have any ides that might help? my rig should be able to run the game easily - intel i7 3.4ghz
ram 8gb
windows 7 64bit
AMD radeon HD6800 x-fire graphics

Crash instantly after clicking play for me. Windows 8 64bit. I thought I would take a risk and bother playing a non Valve game. Pretty much what I expected. Disappointment.

Yeah, your rig specs are looking good. That's odd it's crashing my is rig rubbish, especially compared to your specs. I can't think of anything other than the crossfire, but I don't see why that would be a problem. Other than Devs favouring Nvidia. But still I don't know. I'm no PC whiz btw.

Strange. Windows 8 you say? And you can't run this at all? If so it seems the doomsayers were right about Win 8.

Having the same issue - part way through the intro cinematic, in the cell it just dumps me to black screen and keeps the voices going for a second or two

Same here, game crashes during tutorial. i5 + GTX580, even lowered settings and dx to dx9. Window minimizes and then there is no reaction at all, music still continues to play

tried disabling crossfire but still crashed... also tried lower graphical settings and everything, still doesn't work

yep, that is the exact same issue - i managed to get maybe 3 steps outside the cage before it crashed

Same problem here somehow the game just closes without any error message the only thing it says in task manager is that it the game has stopped reacting, im on a windows 7 64 bit and have a nvidia geforce 580 graphics card.

has anyone manage to find a solution yet to this problem?

I have radeon 7950 and still get the damn black scren. damn ubisoft

I might have found a solution- the problem seems to have disapeared once i disabled the in-game overlay for supported games and the cloud save in the uplay settings.
