There were other missions in the game which struck me as being far worse than the WIllis thing which I found to be just "meh". The Ink Monster fight, for example, made me want to gouge my eyes out. To each his own, I guess.

Amazing visuals and really striking imagery... the first 2 times anyway - got frigging annoying after that! Really needs checkpoints after beating the giant first time and after beating the shadow people

i already forgot about the willis mission, what was it about?
playing on highest difficulty and the game is rather easy... it doesn't matter how much damage the enemies deal if they never hit you, use the nice fire over cover mechanism by crouching behind cover and aim through your scope/iron sight

but if you have spend less time of your life playing video games than me and are struggeling to game past a certain mission, you can always set the difficulty to easy and switch back after that if you want

I agree about the imagery and visuals- it DID look cool, I'll give you that. My problem with some of the "battles" in Farcry3 is that they aren't so much about shooting skill and game playing as they are about not dying by some unexpected method, trying to figure out what killed you, and then trying again, (sometimes over and over) until you magically stumble upon the proper sequence of button mashing. Far Cry 3 is the greatest (worst) game that I've ever played. The open world game play is terrific and then all of a sudden you're pulled into some BS "battle" where you're only trying to figure out the correct sequence of keys to mash to move on to the next level. It's sort of like my golf game- lots of lows punctuated by just enough fun to keep me coming back for more.

actually i would have to say the worst mission in the game is where you go to the town to find Willis and slowly follow him through town. I almost fell asleep doing this mission...no ♥♥♥♥.

The difficulty of the Willis mission isn't that I can't stay alive. It's that Willis can't stay alive. Every time I get near the end of his plane repair, he shouts "PROTECT . . . THE PLANE!" He does that a few times and then dies. I tried it for 2 hours straight and then uninstalled the game.

1st thing....love your handle. I'm old and decrepit, too!
2nd thing.....reinstall the game, set the gameplay to easy, and get back up on that horse, my friend! It took me a few tries, but I finally beat all those pirates. Keep moving, watch your "I've been found" alert thingys, and use them to see where your attackers are coming from. Shoot like a mofo in the direction of the alerted thingys! Aso, use that mounted machine gun when you can and you'll do just fine. Peace.

This mission is a perfect example of horrible gamedesign.

So many games died already on these so called "escort missions". Everytime they end up to be totally unfair. This one makes no difference. I had so much fun wirth FC3, until i ran into that mission. For me, the game ended here.

My most hated mission has to be using the sniper rifle to protect your friend. It's like the deves said "Hmm, I see you've already got a sniper rifle, but were gonna make you use this one. It's gonna wobble everywhere and have an annoying kickback".

I really want to play the game again but I dread that and a few other missions.

Plant mines in the path of the Heavies. They walk right into them. The rest shouldn't be a problem after that...
