Try to remember what other ubi accounts you have
To unlink ubi account from steam, go here: https://account.ubisoft.com/en-GB/account-information
I tried again today. Was able to sign in no problem. I than tried to first launch the game thru Ubisoft Connect which has a Steam icon for Far Cry 3. It than launched the game thru Steam. It seems my old saves never synced or were in the cloud. So i closed the game to use my manual backup saves.
Now the game is saying its not linked to the account again, thru both Ubisoft Connect and Steam. Which literally makes no sense as I just had game running and just unlocked achievments when it closed the game.
I already contacted their support and its been 24 hours since, but still havent heard from them. Its crazy how this happens so much to soo may Ubisoft users.
What should happen. Is if you bought game from Steam store. When you go to launch the game, itll than link to Ubisoft Connect, like it does for all Ubisoft games. The game should than populate in your Ubisoft Connect library as well. It will than have a Steam icon showing game was purchased there.
This is my library showing my games in grid view. As you can see, most are bought thru Steam, which have the icon. For AC Valhalla, I have on both platforms, which lists the game twice. One for UC and the other for Steam. https://imgur.com/j1csk8c
So why its not appearing for you I am not sure. Its a complete mix up on Ubisoft's part. Because I just had game running and now I cant.
Unfortunately the only thing you can do is open a ticket like I did, and wait it out.
However, you lose the ability to use Steam Overlay.
So you can thank Ubisoft's terrible DRM at play here and this really should be patched, or Ubisoft really needs to get rid of their launcher. It really is terrible and has been in beta for years.
As it really is a joke that this happens to such an old game.
Tried for three days with Ubisoft Support where their only solution was to transfer all the games from the old Ubisoft account to my current one in order to transfer with it the copy of Division which was linked with my Steam. I gave them information after information, spoke with multiple members of the support team, and it was only last second that they turned around and said my account was not compatible to have games transferred over from one-to-the-other, something they could have easily told me from the start, rather than waste mine and theirs time.
Long story short I permanently removed the game from my Steam Account (After the Winter Sale had ended) and re-bought the game with the Season Pass so that I had a new activation code that would link up with my new Ubisoft account. Thankfully by some miracle the game and it's DLC went on sale again shortly after the Winter Sale had ended so I had a nice discount. It's still scummy to think that after all the evidence I provided I still couldn't play a game that I payed full price for at the time.
With that said, just either buy the game again or do what animal_PLANET did and just launch the game directly from the .exe. That way you avoid feeding into Ubisofts ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
I hope you get to play the game again soon :)
Talk with the support and they will do nothing about it?
As I mentioned, either outright buy another copy (Though I do agree this shouldn't be an option), or attempt animal_PLANET's idea of loading directly from the .exe when you install your already owned copy.
Each time i'm launching the game from Steam, it requires from me to enter my Ubisoft connects account password in order to play.Meanwhile, launching Ubisoft connect alone, it remembers me and no account credentials are needed, on the same email/account.Ubisoft can go F themselves.
