We did them on Uplay, not Steam. @nodraw is 100% right, the purpose of having those achievements on Steam is to replay the game and do everything, if the achievements simply sync, there's no purpose. Even if everyone knows that Steam Achievements came after, I am still not fine with having a lot of achievements made at the same time, I had this issue when Valve decided to make Half-Life 2 a single game pop up literally all achievements at these same time. I could try to use Steam Console to undo them, but if is sync is on, they'll sync every single time I logon. The idea is to remove the sync from Uplay, and I don't know if this is possible.
even have the messing with the start options on uplays side hasnt made a difference
Well, this is a lie. The moment I play the game I made 39 out of 44 achievements. I can try to reset them using Steam Console, but I believe Uplay will redo them every time I log in.
Edit: It didn't work.
I have no idea if it's possible to avoid this stupid forced sync.
The reason why we are doing achievements on Steam automatically is because Steam is syncing with Ubisoft Connect's achievement, which we can't lock back because when do achievements on Ubisoft Connect we get points to redeem rewards and stuff like that, and since we can't return the rewards we can't cashback the points to return the points and lock the achievements.
SO... Yeah, we are forced to have the achievements made automatically, and I bet this will happen with pretty much every single Far Cry game.
Because we wanted to earn them on Steam instead of having them auto-unlock based on progress on a different system.
Is that really so hard to understand?
Yes it is :D You have already achieved them. For example, I really liked God of War and did all the achievements for it a year ago. I started playing it again and I did miss achievements, but I had no problem understanding that what is achieved is achieved.
Maybe the feeling is stronger when there are more than 10 years between play times but otherwise the situation is exactly the same. If everything had worked smartly at the time of release, the achievements would have been synced back then.
