Flickering Screen + Black Screen
I'd really like to play this game but once I start a new save file and get through ~50% of the first cutscene my screen starts flashing white and after a couple of seconds it just transitions into a completely black screen. The game still runs in the background but I cant move. Tried to change my core affinity (only enabling 4 cores) and enabled MultiThreadRendering - but nothing seems to help?! Google/Reddit didnt seem to have an answer either...

Same issue. The whole screen flickers and eventually goes black.

Try disable MultiThreadRendering and AllowAsynchShaderLoading in gameprofile.xml and launch the game with farcry3_d3d11.exe with compatibility w8 and run in admin.

Ok, I'll try that - thanks for the reply!

You are lucky that it even starts. I can not get it to start. Lucky I didn't pay a lot for it.

Try change quality since gamesprofile.xml in documents/mygames/farcry3 folder. Disable the Ubisoft Connect overlay.

Tried to do what you suggested, but the file did not exist. But after trying to get the so and so game to work for about a week, and many uninstall and reinstall. Please do not not ask how, but it decided to work??? Thank you for your advice. Regards
Enabling g-sync + v-sync + low latency mode (ultra) in the nvidea control panel solved this for me.

Turned off multithreadrendering and AllowAsynchshaderloading. It stopped the black screen, but this made the game perform pretty bad with dips to 50fps. However, turning off Hyper Threading in the bios brought the framerates back to 100+

I also tried far cry 6 with HT off and gave me +10 fps. Probably works with Far Cry 4 and 5 as well.

Gonna stick with HT off when playing Far Cry games. (except 1 and 2 which dont have any issues)

So if you have a older Intel CPU like me. Try turning off hyper threading. It seems very effective in Far Cry games.
