Playing Far Cry 3 without going through U play
Is there anyway of disabling or removing U Play software and still be able to play Far Cry 3?

Using one game digital distribution client to load another in order to play games feels like borderline SPAM. Why the hell even sell it on steam if you require yet another service to manage/play it?

It is getting to the point where you need more an more of these digital distribution clients because everyone is desperate to have their corning of the market. I understand the need for competition, but this is getting as ridiculous as it is annoying.

Pirating is becoming less and less about the money and more about avoiding the numberous hassles these digital distributors as a collective are starting to generate.

As annoying as it is , no.

Yeah this is why I still haven't bought the game. I might pick it up at an extreme sale price but paying 30 bucks and then jumping through all those hoops just isn't worth it.

the game was amazing when it worked. Then Ubisoft updated Uplay and broke literally everything. I've put in a ticket with Ubisoft. It's absolutely maddening and unacceptable. This is not entitlement, I've payed for a game and I expect to be able to play said game without having to troubleshoot their garbage launcher. It is their (bleep)ing issue. They had better fix it.

only way is to play a cracked copy but then whats the point if you have paid for it and yes its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ not being able to play this or any other Ubi game

Is it okay if I download far cry 3 from TPB instead of trying to play my purchased copy through uplay? I will presume it to be allowed if ubisoft does not reply.

Can no longer play because of uplay, I even updated my pw and it was accepted, logged on to uplay. Logged off and went through steam it tell me pw invalid, went back to uplay without steam and pw is invalid again-wtf? I can't play it anymore????

Depends on the country u live in. In europe its illegal (EU) to use cracks i believe. But its a bit of a grey area in most country's. Dont forget the digital age of mass copying isnt that old. In laws we are running behind.
For instant its illegal to crack the game (bypass the security like DRM) but it is legal to own a back up copy if u own a legal original. (right now i am using the law for cd's, music cd's so maybe its outdated again, (cd;s came before dvd's just saying dunno now how old u are), not pure software as on steam, no real physical object, and yes laws are running behind).

But the problem is a back up copy these days wont work withouth a crack.

So in case u own software of like 100000 dollars or euro's, it is reasonble to make a copy of the software and safekeep the original in a secure place, but now u must use a crack to let the software work. Let say the creator of the software doesnt want you to do that but doesnt give u the option of giving u a replacement copy (for free or minor fee) when needed (say software or dvd goes corrupt) and finaly it ends up in court, and the buyer of the software can show that he owns the original software and buying a new 1 is unaccepteble, the probability of the judge flipping the finger toward the creator is there.
But off course it al depends on the lawyers and judge and there knowledge of the case and the subject of software, these days.

From a personal point i can understand u want to play the game offline.
Cause for me online DRM is more or less a way off a punishment for the persons that legaly bought the software.
Just a warning for u if u are gonna dl a crack (cant hep u with that) ALWAYS use ure virusscanner on it, hell use every virusscanner online on the crack before using it.

I dont blame the creator for trying to protect there software but to $^%*( ure honest costumers is dumb. (yesyes basic awnser blame the pirates and stuff).

Yes i was talking about selling Farcry3 with uplay on steam.
I strongly advise Ubisoft to stop adding Uplay on steam in its current state. Its a bit overwhelming and more of a frustration toward a steamuser than a nice bonus.

And on a note Farcry3 is an excellent game. I am impressed with it.

This is exactly why I pirate.
But then you can't 'buy' the game later because it often breaks the pirated copy.
So then I don't end up buying the game even if I liked it.

I just did a review regarding Uplay. Unfortenatley this fantastic game has received a thumbs down because of the problems I experience with multiplayer due to Uplay. Steam users would rather use Steam. Restricting your customers and causing them headaches is going to make them reconsider purchasing more Ubi games.

No.
Uplay is there to stop pirates from playing, but pirates found a way about week after launch like every game (sometimes before the game is actually released) to bypass this.
Uplay is useless and so is every online-DRM.
