weird boxes of darker and lighter shades.

I just bought far cry 3 and I am enjoying it besides the fact that there are random boxes everywhere of darker and lighter shades. is there a way to fix this?

Any screenshots? I've noticed something similar while I was playing, but they were in cutscenes so I thought they were part of the game. (They were very subtle, at least on my PC, so I don't know if I'm taking about the same thing)

I believe the black boxes you're see are part of the Shader/ shadow bug. I've been looking for a solution to it with no luck. I'm playing off a laptop with switchable graphics cards. Serioiusly if anyone knows a solution to this please share.

My guess it is the Ambient Lighting (Screen Space Ambient Occlusion) that's causing this bug.
Try turning off the "Ambient Lighting" option from the Video Quality menu. (or try another setting)
If it doesn't work, try disabling Post FX.
And lastly, if both of them doesn't work, try disabling shadows.

(BTW, there is no OFF option, so set the options to Low)

-Right click on GamerProfile.xml and select Open With -> Notepad.
-CTRL+F and search for SSAOLevel. Set SSAOLevel=”0″ and save the file.

Arthur, you sir are a my hero! Turning the Ambient Lighting to low was all I had to do! Thanks man!
