Difference between farcry 3 and blood dragon

Hi, i'm kinda new to the whole steam thing, but right now far cry 3 and far cry 3 blood dragon are discounted. Now my question is what's the difference?
Do i need them both? is one an expansion pack? Do i need both, also what's the difference between the deluxe edition and the other two.
Sorry if it's an obvious question, i've skipped this whole generation of gaming so i'm kind of new to it all.

Farcry 3 is the original game and Blood Dragon is the standalone expansion with an 80's sci-fi theme going for it. I have only played Farcry 3 so I can't tell you much else about Blood Dragon except that it is hilarious from what I have heard.

I wouldn't really call Blood Dragon an expansion.. It's a much shorter, less complex, stand alone game. That being said - I absolutely loved Blood Dragon and would reccomend everyone play it before Far Cry 3 (which is also amazing). :)
