Ridiculously long first loading time in Far Cry 3
Hello, I just bought this game on sale via Steam, installed it and tried it out. The Far Cry 3 window pops up normaly and then there's this first loading screen with these "butterfly guns" and the Text saying loading and some other random crap. It needs up to 10-25min to load while I'm Online in Uplay and Steam and 10-20min while in Offline mode. Even then I only get to the Main Menu and after that, when I'm trying to get into the game for the 1st time, it's loading again for another 10min. When I'm finally InGame, the Game just freezes and then continues for not even 1sec and freezes again. I don't know what to do against that!

My PC should be able to run this game:

GPU: GeForce GTX 760 (192-bit)
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz
Memory: 8.00 GB RAM
Resolution: 1920 x 1080, 60Hz
Driver Version: 344.75 (the newest one right now)
Windows 8.1

PS: I have some problems with other games as well such as Left 4 dead 2 where it loads something about 5min but then runs completely normal.

uh, thats really weird. That really makes no sense. I'd say update your drivers, validate your cache, if that doesnt work try reinstalling the game and maybe even Uplay.

Thanks for the reply! My drivers are up to date, I already tried to validate my cache and I re-installed Uplay and Far Cry 3 nothing worked. I just tried the game again and it seems to freeze all 10sec :(

put yourself in my shoes i bought this for the co op missions which was a joke on me. not only will you sit at infinite load screens but this game is full of bugs i am suprised steam allows it to be sold. i am really glad i didnt pick up far cry 4 cause if it has half the issues this game has i wouldnt buy it for more then 9.99 since you would be getting a pure sp experiance. honestly i see why people avoid uplay games now.

It's funny people always blame the Uplay servers, admittedly they do suck. But this game would be a piece of ♥♥♥♥ even without them, it is riddled with gameplay bugs and overall is just a downright dissapointing game. trust me if you can't play it be happy cause playing it isn't any fun anyway

I'm having the same issues as OP. I purchased the game a month ago but today its not playable. Game just stays at the loading screen forever when trying to start or contunie a game. Jesus this Ubisoft DRM crap. Why in the hell do we need to be logged into play a game we purchased.... Sort this out already.
same problem

you have to host a privite match to make co op games work feel free to add me if you want

one of many reasons why people ONLY play EA and Ubisoft games on console only.
No ♥♥♥♥♥♥ DRM extra tool needed and on console faaaaaaar less bugs (sadly)

Unfortunality this doesn't work on Windows 8 because wmiprse.exe always re-appears. But thanks for the help anyways :)

Weird. I just rebooted my router last night and everything played great again. This morning its back to being total crap. Gonna reboot my router and see if it plays. ok The DRM might demand a really strong and smooth internet connection when logging in maybe?

Well I tried Offline mode and the loading time was a bit shorter. But when I was in the loading screen, logging in screen, Main Menu or InGame, the game just freezes for 5min before continuing for 5secs. So I'm not really sure but the DRM could of course be the problem even in Offline mode? Gonna restart my router as well, see if that works :) Thanks btw

PS: That wouldn't really explain why the game KEEPS freezing

Schokosteak Rekt:

Well it worked again today after I rebooted my router. Uplay logged me in,,booted the game up,(no long loading, the game booted normal) everything was fine, game played great. The last time I tried to play offline UPlay was last night, this was before I did a hard reboot with my router.) Uplay gave me some sort of message that it was having trouble syncing with my network. Why would it need to do that if I'm playing offline? Anyways right now Uplay syncs with my network fine (I can play offline or online) as long as I reboot my router once a day. I had the same issues as you all did, game would not load, just stuck at that loading screen forever. Try pulling the power cord from your router and then plug back in till your online again, fire up Steam, then Uplay, then the game. Everything goes great when I do this. Hope this helps others. A simple router hard reboot may be the answer.
