What is it with Poker in this game? Every time I get a lousy hand dealt or when I Fold everyone wants to Call and the Pot gets big with something like $600 or more in it and when I have a brillant hand, all of a sudden the other players get pathetic Checking all the time or Folding where there's only something like $50 in the Pot. It annoys me when they gamble a lot when I have a lousy hand or when I Fold and they hardly gamble a thing when I have a brillaint hand. What is the point in Poker in this game?

It reminds me of Blackjack in Red Dead Redemption. Most of the time when I have 20, the dealer has 20 so it's Push or he has a 21. When I have a Blackjack he has a Blackjack so it's Push. The he Busts when I've already Busted. Why can't he Bust a lot when I have a 20 or a 21?

This is why people that gamble with real money using internet casinos are fools. They don't realize the games in the internet casinos can be programmed to win most of the time just like a virus is programmed to cause PC problems.

I would think it's probably selective perception on your part. I found the game to be rather easy to beat, if you play solid, because opponents would very often overplay their hands. Also, from a programming perspective, teaching the AI how to "cheat" effectively while still providing a decent playing experience would be more difficult than just programming straight up play, and it also would not add any value to the game...

i agree. i remember on several occations when i get something like a pair of aces on my hand, before the cards have even been put on the table, i raise by 1, and everybody folds.

on the other hand i have also found that the ai sometimes doesn´t do this. i think that the programming is just a bit wierd.

if the only reason you play poker in fc3 is money, i would instead reccomend the knife-throwing minigame, wich is ridiculously easy even on expert. :)

That knife throwing game is worse. He throws the knives in hard and gets high scores all the time. I find the best and easiest way to make money is to go in the second island where the army has a lot more money to loot at around $50 each. The pirates in the first island only have around $20 to $25. When I've found dead warriors or killed any by accident they mostly have a pathetic $1. Mind you the warriors belongs are good to loot because a lot of them have a Joker Card or a Poker chip that makes about $80 when selling. I wonder why a lot of pirates and civilians have weird things like a doll's head or a photo of a dwarf.

I accepted it the other day. I know I'm late replying to this where you must have sent your message on the same day. I'd like to get the Co-op acievements as well. I find the FC3 Co-op fun and the FC4 Co-op boring. As I'm sure you know, the FC4 Co-op is the single player without the story missions and after a while it gets boring. The FC3 Co-op is bundles of fun, providing the other players don't keep on screwing things up.

That poker minigame is one of the best examples of lazy game making (and one of the many irriating bad details of FC3), no attention or polish whatsoever to every single thing on it. Animation is horrible, dialog is like 4 centences for Jason and 3 for AI players and the mechanics are rubbish. But, of course, it can be forgiven when concidering the fact, that the main game itself is huge and was massive task to make.
