press windows Key + x
open task manager
open the services tab
click name in the upper right to put them in aphabetic order
look for handwriting and tablet input service .. stop the service
right clik on it and select stop
then if you need touch screen services after you are done playing the game do the same thing except select start the service
not sure if i named the service correctly as mine does not have that service .. i already killed it by opening
action center
open all settings
open system
select tablet mode
move both sliders to the Left
under options there i see
when i sign in - always remember what i used last
when this device automatically switches to tablet mode
is set to always ask before switching
my PC does not have any touch screen installed so i shut that all off months ago when i did my initial Windows 10 Pro installation
other people use this method
1) Open task manager
2) Go to "Details" tab
3) Stop TabTip.exe
also try launching both Steam as well as Uplay as run as Administrator
Thank you, that fixed it.
game runs crash free here , always has
try using razer cortex yet ?.. that seems to disable alot of windows sevices and free up more memory ..so you can use it in your games , i used to see 50 FPS on my GTX 960 with the in game ultra preset ..since i installed that cortex program the other day my fps nearly doubled in many area's of the game
so try that as well
crashing can come from not meeting the minimum system requiremnts
dirt and dust clogging up your fans an overheating your PC
bad drivers
not cleaning out old drivers before installing new ones useing DDU
and even just installing Win 10 as an Upgrade can cause problems .. your better off with a clean install of the operating system
and also Power supply problems
or even corrupted or missing files
(verify your game files why running steam as an administrator )
also try running the game in a windows 7 compatabilty mode and set it to run as administrator
since the game was created years before Windows 10 Shipped
right click and select properties on your FarCry 3 .exe file in the games bin folder
you can set a compatability mode for windows 7 if your using windows 10
you can also set the games .exe to run as administrator there too
you can also run the windows 10 compatiblity mode troubleshooter from that same window.
recent Nvidia drivers do have a problem for many people ever since driver version 361.75
with shadow play causing the game to crash on launch try older drivers
(the nvidia drivers are so bad they acully pulled the ones they released recently and now have only a beta driver availabe until it passes Microsoft WHQL certification )
see https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/921332/geforce-drivers/official-364-47-game-ready-whql-display-driver-feedback-thread-released-3-7-16-/
recent AMD drivers also may have a problem for some .. see the release notes fro the most recent drivers for that problem
[82387] A few game titles may fail to launch or crash if the Gaming Evolved overlay is enabled. A temporary workaround is to disable the AMD Gaming Evolved "In Game Overlay"
i have 359.06 installed and i never... ever ...install geforce experience
i only install under custom install
1.the video driver with control panel
2.HDMI audio
3.PhysX
then select perform a clean install
no geforce experience
and no 3d vision since i do not own the Nvidia 3d glasses and kit plus a supported 3d monitor to use that feature they keep packing in every damned driver as extra bloat
geforce experience itself is still a beta program so why they pack that in every driver i have no clue
Plus any of the drivers past Jan 2016 have bugs out the wazooo at least for me with Windows 10 an my factory overclocked Strix GTX 960
361.75 added optimus softwre to my desktop system .. why ? thats used for switching from an onboard intel HD vid chip to an Nvida one .. my old core 2 quad does not have any Intel onboard vid chip
its also treats my asus strix as a removable usb device
that driver also introduced the lovely little shadow play bug that caused several game to crash on launch if shadow play is enabled
Nvidia is aware of the problem and said the problem would not be fixed until the next MAJOR driver Branch (they said that with driver 361.91
so 362.00 i stayed clear of since that driver said there were no fixed issues in the release notes
so try backdating to 359.06 ..i stuck with that one as it is the last driver that ASUS has up for my Strix GTX 960 plus the driver package from ASUS was larger then the one Nvidia offered with the same Driver
( i think asus might do furher internal testing with their drivers they offer , since its an older driver and most asus cards are factory overclocked )
and i'll bet your error code of
nvwgf2um.dll is an Nvidia geforce experince error
so try using DDU to wipe your current driver package .. in safe mode
you can get it here http://www.wagnardmobile.com/?q=node/58
or even on the official Nvida forums here
https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/550192/geforce-drivers/wagnard-tools-ddu-gmp-tdr-manipulator-new-cpu-core-analyzer-updated-02-17-2016-/
then when windows reboots install your drivers without geforce experience or try older more stable drivers that did not have the bugs that started in 361.75 and were still in 361.91 and 362.00 since the driver release notes did say
there are no fixed issues
also every driver past 361.43 force installs Nvidia backend on my windows 10 install even if i do not install gefoirce experience .. i do not need extra services and or processes running that eat away at my systems performance ..nvidia has yet to explian that .. and so far has ignored every support ticket and post about it even on their own forums ..i think Nvidia has really dropped the ball with the recent Driver packages and windows 10
and many had reported it messed up their entire windows install and they were forced to re install windows 10
they did post a beta driver ....but it so far has not passed Microsoft WHQL certification
so id stay clear of that one for a week or so till they find out what the problems are
see
https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/921332/geforce-drivers/official-364-47-game-ready-whql-display-driver-feedback-thread-released-3-7-16-/
Yep, just spent the last couple of weeks banging my head against all of the older solutions. This one fixed it. Golden!
FYI: the service as it is currently named is "TabletInputService".
Thanks again.
But did we learn ? Nope.
