bug while saving liza?

***SPOILERS****
I've been trying to do the mission where I break into Pirate's Cove and save Liza. I get through the cave to her, I get past the fire burning down the building, and I even get partway through driving/shooting to escape.

At the point while driving that Liza says "Jason, up front!" and Jason is supposed to turn around to face the front of the truck, nothing happens. The game just sits there and I can't do anything except shoot, heal, reload. I can't even load a previous save, quit the mission to get back to open world exploring, or die. I tried not shooting the trucks and have restarted the mission several times. The checkpoint simply will not get triggered and I can't get past this point.

Do you have any ideas to help? I really don't want to start a brand new game and I am also afraid that this same problem will happen in a new one.

The key to switch from gunner position to driver doesn't work? You can't face
forward to take out targets there?

Usually when you can't go forward (if it's not a glitch) it's a target that needs to be taken out.

I know you've been through three times and have probably tried everything, but to cover all
possibilities I had to ask.

That's one of the few story missions that I actually liked alot and I remember that the game opened up shortly after that. - (the southern Isle)

Thanks for your help again. For some reason when I played through the mission again, it didn't get stuck and Jason automatically switched seats. I don't know what was different but I'm just glad that it worked. High fives all around!

No - it just worked this time... - Well, VERY glad to hear that you're back in business.

Oh - yes, thinking back... I remember now that you're still pretty early in the game and
you have two more rescues to do (with a number of missions in between) before you
can get to the southern isle.. -

firepower will stop a jeep - and tear right through enemy armour.

Ooh, thanks for the advice! I've loved this game so far and I'm thrilled to get deeper into it. If I get stuck I'll let you know :)
