Far Cry 3 install stuck on 95%/8.7 GB
Tried installing this game about 5 or 6 times now? Every time it pauses at 95% or 8.7 GB (out of 9.1 GB). When it gets to this point it stops, says the install is "Queued" (nothing else in my queue at the time), and when I go into downloads and try manually start it, it won't.

I've tried verifying the game files, clearing my cache, rebooting my PC, installing on a different drive, installing on a different machine (laptop), been to the ends of Google and back and still can't find a solution. My internet connection is 100% stable.

Things I've tried also include deleting "deoptcache" folder, haven't got a ClienRegistry.blob file. Tried changing my download region.

Can't change firewall settings as I'm in a block of flats that supplies internet to everyone. Installed other games just fine though. Really at the end of my wits trying to figure out why it gets stuck - there's absolutely no reason I can see for it to be doing it, but it literally gets stuck at the same point every time.

In later attempts, I installed Uplay first, then left Uplay running whilst installing it - still got stuck.

Also, when it gets stuck, I've gone to my steam/steamapps/common/Far Cry 3 folder and there's only 1 item in there - but no folders, no .exe applications. And no, the item in the folder isn't 8.7 GB in size! It's called "installscript.vdf"

And for the record, I have submitted a support ticket - just wondered if anyone here might be able to suggest a solution. Should probably also add, I have Windows 10, and yes I have more than enough storage to complete the installation.

I'm also trying to install the High Tides DLC, just in case that's somehow relevant.

Any ideas?

You reckon it's because of the sale? As I said, I managed to download other games just fine, from something small like FTL to FFXIV: ShB, and they installed without a hitch. Granted, though FFXIV was through it's own installer. But still, would it really be because of server stress during the sale?

yea i had issues with the x mas sale one time .ended up changing my steam server ,,and tried later at night my game installed fine .. think it was tomb raider ???

also if ya can try to verify your game files some times that will kick the server a bit or even pause your download a few times and give it 4 to 5 min before your resume dl

I actually did the verify quite a few times and stuff. Very weirdly, it has JUST finished downloading, and I think it's because I switched my VPN on. Which is really weird, as I tried that once before and it didn't work. Well, that's fun. Thanks anyway!
