Seriously though: I don't think you can do that for most games, since they all use different animation / skeletal rigging "unique" to the engine.
So unless Ubisoft gives you the actual dev tools (fat chance), I assume the answer is no.
Could be I'm missing something, but I do have some experience in modeling / rigging and I know what a pain that is even for games with built-in modding support like Elder Scrolls Skyrim or Mount and Blade.
So far I've made progress but there isn't munch, and it's with methods that have already been used before to obtain unrigged models.
And by the way, you guessed completely wrong, it's actually the crab model that i'm trying to get right now.
But again, it was just a jab, nothing more. I meant nothing by it.
But yeah, I don't know exactly and truly, but if my experience is any indication, you simply can't do what you want to do.
Unless the models and rigging are in some common format, which I highly doubt, and/or Ubi even wants you to be able to (to get the decryption / conversion tools), which is also a big muhahaha you just can't.
That there is also not much of a modding scene is a further indicator for a fat "No".
But yeah, I'm just assuming. I would be pretty mystified if I'm wrong though.
Not impossible, but highly unlikely. (That I'm wrong I mean).
Ubi games tend to be pretty uptight with their content. If google doesn;t help you, I would really say you are out of luck.
Depending on what you even want to try, I'm sure you can get a rigged crab model, even royalty free somewhere? Just asking if it has to be this specific crab model and animations.
Maybe I can have a look around at the old sites I used to frequent to see if anything good quality is available.
Edit; Just as a teaser, here's one I found almost immediately:
http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/maya-crab-rigged-animation/857043
Not exactly royalty free, but I didn't try very hard.
But I can't know what you want, exactly, or if you absolutely have a reason it needs to be the model from this game.
Oh well, if it's that way then i can always just make my own rig and animations, since crabs have robotic movements anyways, animating shouldn't be that hard. Heck it could be fun even.
And listen, I've been trying to port a crab model for a while now, and i know that none of the royalty free ones are actually accurate (well, except for a few blue crab models and spider crabs models but these don't really interest me)
However the one i found that i both liked, and was rigged and animated was this one: http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/rigged-crab-3d-model/1004323 and boy, look at the price.
Seems like a good way to get sued
Remember, the .xbg format varies with every game, so the FC Primal or Watch_Dogs importer won't work with Far Cry 3.
