2. That what demo charges are for, doesn't matter if you can't reach the rivets, as long as you can get a charge onto a section, it will blast it loose.
3. That would just defeat the whole purpose of the mobile crane, and by extension picking up the pieces manually. Might as well be sitting in a control room directing a fleet of automated drones to cut the ship up and haul away the scraps.
Recently I've found that if the truck is facing me about 50% of the crates bounce off the cab and land up elsewhere (never had that until recently) - I now make sure I have the rear of the truck facing the ship.
I guess that's a good idea, I just hate using consumables.
I don't use the crane bin because I've never had a situation where dropping one saved me more than a few seconds over parking the truck properly.
I tend to find it more efficient to undermine the walls of a floor and collapse the floor/ceiling all at once, which leaves layers of stuff. I just don't enjoy spending 10 minutes picking it all up, so I wouldn't mind paying a fee for it.
It's no different than paying the 10% to have things sorted rather than doing it manually.
I don't enjoy picking up the scraps all over like some glorified vacuum cleaner either, but that's what the devs are going for. Plus, the crate and glove upgrade would be meaningless otherwise.
The mobile crane is meant to save you from periodically driving the truck into a new position. Plus, on larger ships you can't always see the truck, especially as you go further downward. With the mobile crane placed on your eye level you can always see it, and it's quicker to pick up crates and toss them in.
These larger ships need way to clear more of the ship at once. The existing truck and bucket system, along with picking up a tiny bit of stuff at a time (fully upgraded!) isn't good enough.
I'm not going to claim that the new crane upgrade happened because of me, because that would be unlikely, but I totally am going to claim the new crane upgrade happened because of me.
I honestly think the box should just not have collision once thrown at the truck with a green link arrow.
That's not a bad idea. Simple and easy. Not bad at all.
Are you a robot? I can't count the number of times my green direction crates have overshot or undershot the truck, even when from my position it seems they should have made it. I'm not complaining, I am ok with it not always being accurate at times, as it makes things more interesting when I emerge to discover all the crates everywhere heh. Do you just leave all crates lying around until you get perfect line of sight with your truck?
This^^ it’s the most obvious way that it misses. *just* because there’s a Green trajectory line to the truck means jacks@it.
It hits a multitude of superstructure parts on its way, inc railings edges of the ship
I've actually had them not fall and hover in midair several times before. Why? Not a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clue.
I almost never place them myself, so there's a good chance most (all?) of them were the pre-placed ones. That maybe makes a difference?
