I've had it with this game.
After waiting weeks for them to fix things so I could finally finish the largest ship and sitting through countless fatal crashes, I thought they might finally have fixed things with this dlc. I'm on the last ship of the new dlc and after a decent run of days where everything seemed okay suddenly tonight when I go on the ship I am working on has vanished, along with all but $75 of my money. The game makes no attempt to load the ship and just jumps straight into the game. All of the improvements (ha - that's a joke!!) to my base are also gone and loading the previous save from this afternoon makes no difference. I've tried to be positive about this game but I've just had enough now - it just seems to have a mind of it's own with random things happening. The only difference when it starts is that I get the message "Build Parameters Not Set" and the number 11968 (?????). I haven't made any changes to the game so why it suddenly won't load anymore I don't know - I've played this game for 100's of hours and put up with a lot but this is the final straw.

sounds eerily similar to my experience with a flight sim where random strange things would happen depending on which map was loading.

I found that the solution was that my game files were being corrupted during updates and running steam file verification resolved the random behavior.

Thanks for that - I'll try that. Actually since the recent update the game had been much better until yesterday's carry on. I did try a number of times to get back on last night and eventually I managed by loading an older save but it's still not ideal as I'd obviously lost a lot of progress. I'll see what it's like today as I really don't fancy constantly going over stuff I've already spent hours on. Thanks again.

Hi, what you're experiencing is *almost certainly* a corrupted save. You should be able to load an earlier autosave and lose only 10-30 minutes of progress (depending on how often you autosave), but if you don't see your autosaves or other recent saves in the list, it's likely that the corrupted save is stopping *the list of saves* from fully populating.

The devs are aware of this issue and working to fix it ASAP. Until then, I wrote up a quick guide on how to get rid of the bad saves:

Short version: Turn off cloud sync, move (don't delete) all but the most recent save file out of the saves folder. Load that save - if it works, turn on cloud sync again. If it doesn't, move that one out and move the NEXT most recent save file in. Repeat. Eventually you will be able to start with the most recent non-corrupt save and the game will load again properly.

Thanks for the info - I managed to get it working last night by going back a few saves until one finally loaded. It has been okay since then - I didn't lose too much progress and just had to do it again. It's loaded the last four times so here's hoping. Thanks again.
