it happened in other unreal engine games too.
physics engine is connected to frame rate
frame rate limit needs to be set to 60 on the first 2 floating cities dlc and 30 on the 3rd one
physics engine is connected to frame rate"
so my fatal errors occur with frame rate at 60. so i just changed it to 120, which i think was the default. the fatal errors continue at 120, so fps changing hasn't helped me so far.
thanks though. i'll go back and give 30 a try, but i'm not optimistic.
Update: fps 30 failed for me, but read my post below on fixing this.
Here is what worked for me, and thanks to the person in another thread who suggested changing Display Mode to Windowed, cause that is one of my new working settings:
Graphics,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Custom
Display Mode,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Windowed
Resolution,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,1920x1080
Gamma ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,3.6
V-Sync,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Enabled
Max FPS,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,60
XeSS (DirectX 12 Only),,,OFF
Post Processing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Epic
Effects,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,High
Physics Limit,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Very HIgh
Motion Blur,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,OFF
so far i have not had a fatal error using the above. remember, i'm not suggesting that's going to work for anybody else, but if you just get fatal errors and can't play, i hope this works for you. i'm guessing the major changes i made are the Display Mode to windowed, XeSS (Direct X 12) to OFF, Physics limit to Very High, and Motion Blur to OFF were important if not critical. but i'm just guessing.
that will be my next try if necessary, but so far this is still working for fatal errors. only problem is....i still have the issue of falling thru solid surfaces down to the ship's bottom. this happens after i have played a session for an hour or so. so maybe i'll try your suggestion about the saves.
thanks!
