Can't winch some walls off on Submarines DLC - connectors issue?
The Submarine DLC seems to have introduced a very annoying bug which I wasn't experiencing before. I have no idea if this now happens for all of the ships, or just the DLC, but it's happened on every one of the submarines so far.

So basically, sometimes I'll free up a wall/ceiling section to be winched off, and it won't pop free, erroneously claiming that there are still connectors attached. (And no, it's not just me being a moron, the first time this happened on the I400 I picked the rest of the entire submarine clean and the affected walls still wouldn't pop.)

This seems to happen if the last connector to be destroyed is a blue one - doesn't happen every time, but it's been at least once on every sub. Every time I've left the red connectors as the last to be destroyed, it has popped free just fine. This is also how I usually fix the problem - reload a previous save and redo the section, making sure to do the red connectors last - but sometimes that's a fair bit of progress lost. On I400 I just had to redo the entire ship.

Has this been happening to anyone else, or is it some magic jank that just affects my exact setup?

I think I figured out how to get the front sections free on the Ohio, I posted this in another thread so im copy pastaing

I think I figured out how to break this down. First I removed the missiles, I left the hatches on. The sections under the conning tower I removed second, but only those two top sections, I left the connection on top of the sub and along the conning tower alone. I removed all the floors from the top to just under the upper sections. I left the ladders in the bulwarks and the destructibles on the bulwarks alone. After only removing the connectors along the hull in both those sections (from the very bottom to inside top) and the floors from the top level to just below the top sections, I took out the connectors along the top midline. Once those were removed I took off the conning tower and the final midline connector. I was then able to remove the top two sections allowing me to access the bottom heavy elements.

Same Problem here. Middle of Ohio, after the missile section. Hook markers appear on my character, every connecting part is destroyed. There are two what looks like weld marker inside the hull, only a few pixel are visible, the rest is in the hull and they can't be cut.

Exact same bug on same hull section for me!! The only hull section I cannot winch off. Grrr
i broke free the back an front top pieces of I400 but i cant which them period their free because they explode outward at a weird angle an nothing holding them an it says in in the green to crane it but it wont crane
Breaking down the Ohio for a second time, am seeing the same problem not being able to winch down at least one top piece of the sub despite all of the floor connectors being removed. Don't recall having this problem the first time I took apart this sub :(

Update: Discovered that it's apparently not enough to remove all of the connectors, you need to actually pick them up. Had a hull section with the "issue", went around and picked up all of the scrap pieces on the ground around it, suddenly I could winch the section. Was able to recycle all hull parts.

I'm seeing issues with the I-400 too - I got all the top pieces loose, was able to pull them all with the winch, but they didn't actually come down (they moved away from the sub horizontally like normal, but not vertically, they're floating at the same height they started at). And now the hull pieces turn green when I point the radio at them, but they can't be queued up for the crane because it says there are still connections remaining (except the two pieces in the front-most section - those ones I can crane, but they still didn't get pulled down all the way).

Maybe related, I did save and reload between breaking the connections and using the winch (because my tools stopped swapping, and I figured a reload would fix it).

Edit: I can also confirm that picking up all the previously connected pieces seems to work. Ironically, I can tell I got them all because the piece will turn red when I point the radio at it, but clicking will queue it up for the crane despite that.

Edit 2: Had one that I just couldn't get to work (probably missing a piece somewhere...but I cleared out everything around it and I just can't it) so I reloaded again - on reload the hull piece was on the ground properly and was able to be craned.

I can't get anywhere tearing apart the hull of Kursk. The small sections on the roof won't winch off, but there aren't any connectors or floor/wall pieces anywhere near them, and no parts are highlighted when I try. Very frustrating, as I have no idea how to move forward.

They're on the outside of the ship. You'll have to carefully move out over the curve to the bottom of those pieces and you'll see the weld.
I've completed all the subs, mission wise, but could not get the Ohio class all the way to the dirt. one piece had a random sheet of metal that had fallen blocking the removal, it was just sitting at the bottom of the hull loose and waiting to be picked up (things always seem to slide between decks going down) the one that I couldn't solve I think had the same thing happen, except it didn't stop at the hull, instead it fell through the world entirely and when you used the winch to highlight what needs removed, the hull looked fine, but if you looked straight down there was a red marker down under the world miles under there.

Last week's patch had said it had fixed it, but I was watching a youtuber play on stream and he had the exact same things happen to him, but on the Kursk. he was able to complete the missions, but that section of hull was impossible to remove, so the patch didn't do what it advertised. There's a new patch today, no patch message yet, but hopefully it will fix some bugs
The last two updates (including the one earlier today) have both contained things that should help with this problem. Unfortunately, they will not necessarily help if you started your ship in a previous version. If you're going to put hours in, you should start a new ship now.

Wow, I never would have found that! Cutting the weld was a bit more exciting than I had expected.

cannot complete first submarine, top sections just open up and cannot be lifted, crane shows red and says it cannot get there.
If you go to the winch and mark the section it will indicate where the block is it can be a single plate piece lying on the groud or inside took me a while to figure it out but i managed to get all sections craned away https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198113142836/screenshot/2545179974101009889/

Yeah, it took me quite a while to find them. And yeah, a couple of the pops were rather exciting. :D
