Disproportionate amount of liquid needed for upgrades
Anyone else think so? Whenever I purchase a new upgrade blueprint it's never "will I have enough non-metal?" or "will I have enough equipment?" It's always "will I have enough liquid?" And the answer is usually "no" because upgrades require so much liquid compared to the amount you get from most ships.

Yeah, having to clear like a dozen ships just to get the second crane upgrade was annoying as hell. And I already had a good stock of it!

You will find that a lot of contracts include liquids (e.g. Acid, Oil, etc.). That's probably why you don't have much after stripping a ship: you sell them for money. So give up the money for the contracts and use your liquids for upgrades instead.

I didn't even BOTHER with the contracts and I also didn't auto-sort (Which made sorting take friggin' forever because I was scrapping BIG ships with extreme amounts of red and blue and almost no yellow or green, despite the gauges being topped out) and it still took over a dozen ships *just* for that one (admittedly extremely large) liquid requirement.

I just bought the crane blueprint to see how much it needed. 1250kg. If you have the base game alone, there are no ships with that much. If you have the Warship DLC, there's ONE that comes close. All three of the other resources are available in spades, but aren't required at such amounts compared to availability. It'd be like if one upgrade required 100000kg of metals.

I haven't upgraded the crane at all. I don't see the point. Am I missing something?
Man's Best Friend 11. apr. 2024 kl. 5:05
Nah, it was just being used as an example. The crane is used for so little, and there's so much else to clean up aside from craneable items that speeding it up isn't really needed.

Also I should point out that the 1250kg for the crane upgrade was for the first upgrade. I can't imagine what the second one costs.

The second one wants five *thousand*. And I was mainly using that just because that was the only one I had left and thus the only one whos upgrade cost I knew. I've had everything else fully upgraded for months.

as for the crane, there's quite a bit to crane out in larger ships, and not having to wait five minutes to get it all is nice, especially when all that's left is the hull sections.
