Full collapse ...
I was doing my usual thing of collapsing floors above the heavy elements on the heavy mermaide. I had collected the 1st one on the 2nd or 3rd floor from the top. I was starting to remove the walls bellow next 2 floors to collect the next heavy element when suddenly everything and i mean everything collapsed. There wasnt a single thing left attached to the shell. Is this a bug or is there new mechanics involved ??

What ship ? Some ships are set up incorrectly. You remove a harmless wall panel and everything nearby blows up for no reason.

As i said in the post (heavy mermaid) and it wasnt just everything around where i was removing wall pannels . I mean literally everything that was still attached to the hull was detached...

I had that happen to. The bottom floor under all the heavy elements is hanging from the floor above. Deconstruct minimum to get the elements out then disconnect the floor above and the floor below will drop. I was lucky and was able to save state as soon as it happened

Yep, had the same issue yesterday. I collapsed some harmless floor tiles on the lower level at the open end of the ship (Heavy Mermaid as well), and suddenly everything that was attached collapsed. I suspect it's a new bug introduced with the patch.

Recently got the game and I've noticed this on pretty much all ships I've worked on. If you remove the panels along the hull pretty much everything breaks apart.

Had this happen on the 2ed warship was clearing the top deck and the full ship broke apart.

Had the same thing happen to me on two different ships. One from the war ships DLC, one from the regular list.
Well, at least it got me the Oops! Achievement ;)
I have tried this ship 3 times now and it still has a complete crash at different points of the demolition. Not going to try this again until this is fixed. I enjoy this game, but very disappointed with this dlc.

I am 1/2 way done the 2ed warship going room by room and quick saving after knocking down so i can alt f4 out if it all comes down. its the only way i have found to keep going.

I was doing the second to last base game ship, the Multi-Wojti, and I was clearing walls on the very top floor when suddenly the ENTIRE ship just collapses on me, breaking everything. I had broken barely 10% of the ship, most of it on the very back, and at that point so having the entire ship collapse on me really slowed down the game. I was able to finish off the contracts but I still lost a lot and gotta restart it. What causes these total collapses?

Total collapses can happen if you cut through a gas line. The gas line sets off a chain or flames along the line, eventually reaching the gas heater which blows up. The explosion destroys enough supporting plates that a lot falls breaks at once, including a gas line for another gas heater.

But it might not have done this. It may be that you found a construction flaw (a bug) in the way the developers linked items in the ship.

I had that happen to me on the Heavy Mermaid. Fortunately, I was able to exit the game before it auto saved. I went back in to get all the items that required the crane. After that, I collapsed it again but on purpose this time.
