If this is the case already, then it doesn't seem obvious enough or explained. currently I don't feel the need to ever upgrade the torch or the saw for most of the ships because I can waste a couple of seconds on the few big items on each of the bigger jobs.
Having both methods be viable is good, but also a more tedious but material conscious option would be nice too. I say this because I am getting a little burnt out on just smashing the floors and watching the ship fall apart. While this is satisfying the first dozen times I am wishing I could have a reason to want to do things the slower way.
