So...whats the point here anyway if there wont be done anything about this frame dropping.
I only have this on PC, not on Xbox360, can anyone tel me, if the xbox plays smooth, or is it also slow motion playing?

The devs have said multiple times it should be fixed in an upcoming patch.
My System: Q9650, ASUS 5870, 4GB RAM, Windows 7 64 Bit. 10 FPS!!!!!!!!!!! It doesn't matter which grafic-options are turned on/off. Always 10FPS!

Edit: Sorry, with 1024x768 in Window-mode and all other grafic options low or off I have 19 FPS :D

P.S.: All other games run without any Problems with this System!

is there anyway i can see what fps im getting?
Just so nobody starts with the "update your drivers" posts in this thread. I've got the latest non beta release, and it actually seems to run worse than the older drivers when I was using them. Trials 2: Second Edition runs with a perfect framerate all the time with adaptive vsync. Maybe this future update will simply allow us to turn off all the pixel shader stuff and dynamic shadows.

Hello guys,

One of our developers dropped this info over on the RedLynx Forum, and I knew you guys would want to see it as well:

Performance fixes have been done, and the patch is in certification. If everything goes well we expect to see the patch release this week or the next.

Some tips:
- Update your graphics drivers. Please download the newest drivers directly from the AMD or Nvidia website. Do not download graphics drivers from your computer manufacturer's site (Dell/HP/ASUS/Acer/etc) because those drivers tend to be pretty old.
- If you are having texture gliches on AMD cards, download the newest drivers. Old drivers have confirmed texturing problems. Intel has also announced new drivers for HD 4000 GPUs (should be out next month). Hopefully those drivers will fix the texturing issues on Intel integrated chips.
- If you are running the game in windowed mode, it's critical to have Aero enabled. If you have Aero desktop theme disabled, the game will lag heavily (in windowed mode).
- Check the "Wait for vertical refresh" setting in your graphics control panel (left click on Windows desktop background and select AMD Radeon Catalyst Control Center or Nvidia Control Panel). This setting should be either "application controlled" or "on". If this setting is "off", you might experience lag when playing the game in full screen mode.
- Additionally, if you have any texturing problems (gliches/popping), please set the texture quality, anisotropic filtering and anti-aliasing settings to default (application controlled) in the graphics control panel.
- Enable "VSync" option in the game video settings screen.
- Disable "Advanced Effect" in the game video settings screen. This option has performance issues in the current build. "Advanced Effect" option will be fixed in the patch.
Too little too late, unfortunately. Once a PC game flops it is dead, you guys should know that. RIP Trials Evolution and RIP RedLynx PC community.

A little bit of an over-reaction there?! I've enjoyed the game so far and will continue to do so after the patch.

I have it on 360 and can confirm it is smooth as butter, always, regardless of explosions/background stuff happening, etc...

You understand the difference between consoles and PC right? They don't just press a "port" button and out pops a PC version. The 360 and PC don't even use the same type of processors!
True, the processors on the Xbox are gimped. As is the graphics chip. It is however easier than you probably think to go from Xbox360 to PC. The other way around is much more of a pain because of the trimmed features of the Xbox CPU. Also, when you develop software, you really almost never actually write your (main) code in low level languages like assembly, so the 'type' of processor won't matter so much except for the odd performance tweak in an intensive game. And again, that's more for going the other way around. The only low level code they likely have is dealing with the GPU, but again they can translate that into a modern shader language. (maybe why it doesn't run on XP with DX9). Doesnt' the 360 use some sort of post DX9 / pre-DX10 library?

Even the lowest end PC these days is way over powered compared to a 360. The performance issues are likely to be fixed with some very small changes to their code. I expect to see a huge improvement in this upcoming patch.

Anything that runs smooth on a 360, can run smooth on a LOW END modern PC. It's just that simple. They will fix it.

No part of my comment insinuated that I don't understand the difference between a PC and an Xbox 360. The person asked if the 360 version suffered from similar issues to the PC version to which I replied it did not. If anything I would suspect bearhex was wondering if it was an engine problem that was appearing on both formats.
So.. it's middle of July and fps drops are still a problem, then? Grabbed the game on sale and in some stages the fps crash hard. It's not my rig.
Yep, looks like this is still an issue, I just got the game today and came here looking for answers. Oh well, hopefully they will fix it at some point!
