Does the game save rooms automatically?

Yes. I think there are only five rooms so far. You can create a new room, and when you are done, you can place it on Steam. All rooms are saved. If you want to start a new room you have to click on one that you have already decorated - if all the rooms are decorated that is. Don't worry. The decorated room is already saved so you can go ahead and begin a new room.
