1. Try our new beta posted a few minutes ago. (In Steam, right-click World of Goo > Properties > BETAS tab > select "beta - beta test" from the dropdown.)

2. Run the game. Navigate to any issues you have. Let it sit for 10-20 seconds.

3. Close the game.

4. Navigate to your user data folder, where your save file, config file, etc are stored.
(C:\Users\[yourusername]\AppData\Local\2DBoy\WorldOfGoo\)

5. Send us: 1. Which bug you're seeing. 2. Your log.txt, to contact at 2dboy . com

Thanks for your help!

Yep, steady 50 FPS here also ;). Lots of stuttering and screentearing. Any fix soon, please?

Same here. Unplayable after the update.

A beta is ready which we think fixes the stuttering some players are reporting. In your Steam client, right click "World of Goo" > Properties > "betas" tab > select beta in the dropdown.

Let us know if this works better for you!

Thank you. The new beta has fixed the screen tearing I was seeing. This is much better. I wasn't one of the ones with the stutter, so can't say if that's fixed but every thing else is great.

Thanks! Fps isn't capped now, but stuttering and pixelated textures are still there. When i change camera position it looks like it's 30 fps. All movies are still a bit laggy.

Also, if you can, please, add feature to change default wooden signs to ish ones in custom levels :3

I know, you will fix all issues :)

after the beta it runs with 100fps on linux (my desktop refresh rate) good job guys, why not add arrow key to move screen to the game?

After last update, the game is working at 60 FPS and screentearing has gone, but it is far from smooth - it feels like it is stuttering all the time.

You can extend the framerate by disabling vsync through your gpu control panel, but stuttering will still present :(

2-level gameplay of both versions (1.3 and 1.5)
1.3: https://youtu.be/2UWbErRarQQ
1.5: https://youtu.be/1-27SXgv30Y

P.S. Sorry, but i don't have original 1.3 currently.

You're lucky to be able to play it. Since the update, some players can't launch the game anymore. Like me and my old Windows 7 32-bit laptop. :steamsad: :steamsad: :steamsad:

Edit 1: I managed to launch the game by editing the file "config.user.txt" (in the save directory) - it works for me if the parameter "use_fbo" is set to 0 (-1 = always crash, and 1 = crash when fbo_width & fbo_height are specified). But, when launched with this setting, the game is still unplayable for me because it has around 1 mini freeze every 4 seconds.

Edit 2: With the last fix of the update, I still cannot launch the game normally, and I'm still forced to set the "use_fbo" parameter to 0 (in the new "config.ini" of the save directory) to be able to launch the game. But now, with this setting, the game runs correctly for me (no more mini-freezes). :steamhappy:

Here are two currently undocumented vars to try. These currently work ONLY in the beta (instructions on how to enable beta in post up above.) Let us know if tinkering with these improves anything for you!

<!--
Adjust vsync.
-1: Adaptive (default)
0: Off
1: On
-->

<param name="vsync" value="-1"/>

<!--
Adjust volume.
0-1 (default is 1)
-->

<param name="volume" value="1"/>

I tried changing "vsync". It doesn't matter the value I choose, the stutter seems the same.

The game feels so inefficient, it just feels wrong. Even at 800x600 feels like if the computer couldn't handle it.

- No sound on NT 5.x (2k / XP / 2003 / XP x64). Impossible to fix with config file editing - the setting for sound output simply doesn't exist.
