PC is aight but not as fast as Windows.
In all honesty I think you guys put Half Life on this pedestal simply cause you like Valve and you like Steam. So every game they make has to be pumped up like its the greatest thing ever. It is way too easy for me to see the flaws in all Half Life games. I was never that impressed playing any of them. In all honesty I think the Left 4 Dead series is a greater achievement than Half Life. Yeah I get it, Half Life introduced the source engine, sure thats awesome but the game itself is just another first person shooter with some cool physics elements. Seriously people on this site even try to act like DOTA 2 and Gary's Mod is the most amazing thing ever.
I love Valve and Steam but I'm not so much of a fanboy that I got to act like they are a flawless game creator. If this mystery Half Life 3 game continues on with the ghost mute as a main characgter, with a vague plot, vague storytelling, wooden undeveloped NPC's, copy and paste enemies, then I'll pass and consider it as bland as the other Half Life games.
Halo IS unevolved and primitive, the campaign has functioned the exact same way since Halo 1. (cutscene, typical FPS gameplay, another cutscene) not to mention, if it wasn't for Half-Life, the flood wouldn't have had existed.
Not true. Look at CS:GO's boards, CS:GO is a Valve title, yet plenty of people still hate it.
That's your opinion. Plus, HL:S was the first game on the Source engine.
Vague plot and storytelling? You're just not used to the way Half-Life immerses you. Wooden undeveloped NPCs? What? Also, Halo copies and pastes enemies, too.
You say I'm not use to Half Life storytelling but if there was a "story" then these forums wouldn't be full of questions asking the most simple of things like"who is G Man?" Seriously, Half Life can't even explain who the guy is controlling everything in the first place? You think NOT telling a story is good storytelling? Unlike you I dont have a problem with cutscenes, as a matter of fact I see cutscenes as a visual reward for clearing areas and levels. I Like cutscenes, heck my favorite game all time FF7 is full of them, and I love it for it.
Your hero Gordon Freeman has yet to utter one word or even seen in his own game! Maybe its immersive to you but I think it looks pretty bad when NPC's talk to Gordon and he does nothing but stare at them, yeah thats really innovative...not.
EDIT: Also, the game DOES tell a story. u just need 2 lrn 2 listen to the characters ololol
So to sum it up Yes I think Halo tells a better story!
Here's another plot hole, in Episode One DOG tosses Alyx and FreeMan into the Citadel...why? Why wouldn't DOG toss himself over there, he'd of made quick work of the Citadel. The world would be safer with DOG than the Odd Couple.
And to your 2nd plot hole, as far as I remember, I think Alyx told him to meet her father and make sure he's safe. Idk, lemme check.
Meh.
Nothing really compares to HL2 imo. The Bioshock series and the latest tomb raider come close though.
