(Need Help!) Flashlight problems

Here for about three weeks now all my source games including Half life 2, Half life 2 ep1 & ep2, and Garry's mod have all been having the same problem where my flashlight just won't turn on. I hear the toggle sound of the flashlight when I press the F key but no light shows up on any surface I've tried everything I could think of to fix it and I've just had no luck, its really bothering me because I just a few days ago bought ep1 & ep2 and I can't even experience them properly because I have no flashlight. I don't know where else to turn but any help or assistance would be very much appreciated I am just all out of ideas what should I do to fix this issue?

I have had no problems, gonna state the obvious but go into the options screen in game & select the flashlight, press enter & select a key, press appply & try again. If that does'nt work I have some other options.

Its probably your key bindings are not being applied

Just tried changing the key bind for the flashlight it didn't make a difference its still not showing up on any surfaces though I do hear the flashlight toggling on there just isn't any light.

What graphics card do you have? Also do you have the latest card drivers? I tell you after this latest Steam pipe update there is no end of problems.......& they all seem to be different!

I have an nvidia geforce 6800 and yeah I made sure I had the latest driver for it. And wow thats crazy I was starting to think I was the only one having problems after that update.

Well in all honesty, it should work, Its up to you if you can live with no torch, but I would un-instal HL2 totally (everything, clean slate), then re-instal it. Hate to say that because its so annoying........

While I am here, have instaled any mods......i.e. Black Mesa or Uplink?

I did try uninstalling every source related game and then reinstalling them all and I had no luck I tried that yesterday. And um well the only mods I've installed recently would be Cry of Fear and Nightmare house 2 but the flashlight problem was still there before I installed NH2.

Just wanted to let you know I figured out the problem was my video card cause I just got a geforce 9800 gtx put in and the flashlight works great now :D thank you for the tips though I appreciate it.
