-- Thanks for the information guys. now that i know what's the cause of this issue. And i'm glad to find out it's not only me, nor is it my new GPU. hope they'll fix this soon on Steampipe. Though, kinda hoping it's actually true and it is trough Steampipe.
"-dxlevel 90"
nvm thanks it worked :D
Try subscribing to the Steampipe-Beta version of HL2, as that is where the fix will be implemented first.
quote "This can also be specified with Launch Options, use +mat_dxlevel [DirectX version] on the launch options of any Source game to do so. Alternatively, you can use -dxlevel [DirectX version], however this specifies a number of extra presets, including resolution and quality."
edite: don´t use 98 (shader 4) - there are issues with that setting.
Can you elaborate on this ? I started HL2 with the -dxlevel 98 once, exited, removed the launch parameter, started again, and now it stay on Hardware Level DirectX 9.8, and I didn't see anything wrong.
