There is another room with a valve to make the water rise. you have to jump from the ladder to a pipe and follow it to the room with the valve.

Yes, it can be a difficult jump to make but you can do it. Tthe ladder is in the center of the room and the pipes will be behind you when you are at the top of the ladder.

Thanks for the help! I found the rotary valve located in an isolated spot in between all the pipes in the room on the Right. However I could never get out of the room on the Lhs w/low water. The drums were a challenge to stack into a pyramid....underwater, then climb up on-top. Thanks again Rotorhead

I know this is an 11 year old discussion, but in case someone is wondering about this in the future: If you stack barrels (instead of increasing the water level like you're supposed to), you can still get from one side to the other by run-jumping and then crouch-landing on the other side.

dude there are a million walk throughs, route kanal is one of the easiest chapters in the game you literally just commented for the sake of it just trying to get an old post to get shut down

There're a lot of legitimate tricks one can use to and thru the RK sewers to save time and labor without cheating. The long jump is one of them, I used it instead of creating the debris field in the 3rd room. It still makes sense to raise the water level, moving barrels all over takes time and is like ringing the dinner bell to the manhacks.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
