BTW. Portal and Portal 2 both take place in the Half-Life Universe.

Half-Life and Portal definitely take place in the same universe. I thought everybody knew about that already. Black Mesa is mentioned in Portal's ending theme, and Borealis in Portal 2 ties the two series together quite neatly. It doesn't mean their stories have to be somehow connected but I think it's clear there is at least some connection.
